Fash Love: ELF Cosmetics Set

I could live with a few makeup essentials in my purse to carry with me, such as a lip balm, lipstick (red and pink, please!), curlash and mascara, and a blusher. But if the opportunity presents to acquire more items to play with, how could I refuse?

When my best friend gave me this ELF Studio 83-Piece Essential Makeup Collection, I was beyond happy. Now I can have as many tools to play with all in one palette! The variety of colors and shades is what I love best about this makeup kit. You can literally have something to use for every occasion and style.

According to their website, the collection costs $35! And for this collection, you can get the following:

-64 eyeshadow shades
-8 lip gloss shades
-4 blush shades
-4 bronzer shades
-1 lip brush
-1 eye brush
-1 face brush

I’m lucky to have a best friend who is just as “kikay” as I am. It’s been a blast experimenting with this kit. If you’re planning to buy, be sure to check it out!

OOTD: Gym-aholic

Going to the gym is one of the most painful yet rewarding experiences I’ve had in my life… so far. I could not imagine my daily routine without it anymore. Anyway, my workout ensemble is pretty basic – comfy and allows free range of motion. As soon as I step out of the gym, though, it’s back to my usual wannabe fashionista self. Ha!

Here I am after one of my gym sessions. As much as I loathe those that take photos of themselves at the gym, I had to excuse myself because I needed to showcase how I styled my fave gladiator heels and new (aka shorter) locks! (PS: You can tell it’s an impromptu photoshoot because I had to take my own photo using my camera phone. Lol)

For added dash of chic, I opted to wear my gladiator heels to pair with my red and white striped blouse and skinny jeans. As always, accessories are kept to a minimum with my red stud earrings from Love Diva and turquoise bracelet that I got from GMall.

What do you think about this look? I’m kinda digging it, haha. Check back soon for other chic everyday ensembles

Shoes are one of my biggest weaknesses. I am afraid this is starting to become an obsession. But what’s a girl to do? For this edition of Tuesday Ten, I am providing you a glimpse into shoes I spotted online that I’m dying to add into my existing collection.

Celebrity Fash: ALMA Awards 2012 Fashion Faves

The 2012 ALMA Awards is celebrated annually to commemorate the contributions of Latinas and Latinos in the entertainment industry. As there are quite a few successful Latinas out there, the event was star-studded with some of the who’s who in Hollywood attending the soiree. Check out below for some of my favorite looks at the red carpet for the 2012 ALMA Awards.

Some people might be torn with Nicole Richie’s fashion sense but I like her take on the edgy and darker style elements. This Mathieu Mirano sheer embellished gown (taken off the designer’s fall 2012 collection) was the perfect choice for the petite beauty on the red carpet.

Ana Ortiz, best known for her role in Ugly Betty, looked stunning on the red carpet. This strapless printed gown was one of the best looks for the night!

Did you think that only the ladies brought on serious fashion into the 2012 ALMA Awards red carpet? Hold on, as half-Cuban and Olympian Ryan Lochte looked dapper as he worked the red carpet of the said event. This three-piece gray suit on Ryan was nothing short of breathtaking.

Zoe Saldana is my favorite look of the night – two times in a row after she also got my best dressed nod at the 2012 MTV VMAs! The 34-year-old actress was gorgeous as can be in this pleated salmon gown from Gucci, which was accented by a beaded belt and jewelry from Irene Neuwirth.

Which is your favorite look on the 2012 ALMA Awards red carpet? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Casual Weekend Outfit Ideas

Weekends are always much anticipated for those of us who are working Monday thru Friday. It is an opportunity to relax and unwind, or basically do whatever you want to do with your time. However, this isn’t an excuse to get lousy with your fashion. In fact, I personally enjoy dressing up whenever I go out on weekends. There is an art to dressing up for the occasion, though. Here are some of the styling tips I had created myself to help you pick the right look for your weekend activities.

Lunch Date

When going to a lunch date with friends or someone special, keep it simple and comfortable. A fashionable shorts paired with sheer top will give a relaxed and laidback feel to your entire look, while small details such as a color-coordinated jewelry and ballet flats will do wonders for your ensemble, fashionably speaking.

Malling

This girly outfit would work well when you are window shopping or hanging out at the mall. A patterned dress that is garterized in the middle reflects your free-spirited personality. A colorful candy bag and adorable bangles, meanwhile, render a feminine touch to your outfit. Also, make sure to wear flats while at the mall since you’d be spending a lot of time walking and you would not want to tire your feet by wearing high heels or pumps.

Weekend Nightout

Add some dazzle into your outfit with this sparkly top and hot pink skinny pants. Don’t forget to bring a trench coat, or a cardigan, to keep you warm through the night. Feisty earrings help to bring out more fierceness to this look.

Evening

Out and About

No particular plans for the weekend? This would be my ideal ensemble. A mustard sheer top would go really well with this leggings and gladiator sandals. Meanwhile, a leather bag should carry all essentials while you are out and about. This is a great look to transition into the night, as well, all you need to do is put on a jacket or cardigan.

What about you? What's your favorite weekend style? I'd love to know what you think. XO

Travel Junkie

Early this year, I got to travel to Boracay for the first time with the boyf and a few friends. To say I loved every minute of this vacation is an understatement. Boracay is amazing. I can see why foreigners from all over the world flock here. The beach and the sand are fantastic! It feels like powder and very fine – in fact, I prefer walking on it barefoot as opposed to wearing my flip flops while scouring the beach when I was there. Ah, just thinking about there makes me want to hop on a plane and spend a lazy weekend in Boracay.

Because we stopped over at Iloilo airport and took a long ride at the van to the island of Aklan, where the port heading to Boracay is at, I kept my ensemble comfy for this particular trip. I wore a pink plaid top over a white spaghetti strap and denim shorts.

For my footsies, I had my Mendrez strappy sandals on to keep my ensemble chic. Trying to be comfy while traveling does not mean that you should let your style right out of the window entirely. No, not me.

I love this crew, such camwhores. Check out after the jump for pics of my travel ensemble, as well as some of the group I was traveling with.

How about you? What’s your style essential when traveling? I’d love to hear them. XO

Fash Fave & Faux Pas (NY Fashion Week Edition)

The 2012 New York Fashion Week has officially wrapped up but we're just getting a hang on all the new collections from various fashion designers. While all you fashionistas out there are trying to settle back down after a fashion overload, I want to give you my own two cents about the best and worst looks from celebs spotted out and about during the NY Fashion Week festivities. I tell you, I had quite a lot of fashion faves but here goes my favorite...

Favorite Look

Sarah Jessica Parker shows everyone why she’s considered a fashion icon as she headed to Lincoln Center in New York to attend the Diane von Furstenberg fashion show wearing one of the designer’s patterned mini dress. The pointed 2013 Nicholas Kirkwood pumps she wore for the event added a pop of color into her ensemble, while the cufflinks infused the much needed edgy vibe to bring another layer of fash into her outfit. I officially declare SJP as living proof that you can look better with age.

Fashion Faux Pas

Courtney Cox, on the other hand, underwhelmed at the New York Fashion Week wearing this matronly getup during the NewbarK presentation. I am a bit disappointed knowing that she is capable of pulling off something more fashionable and glam than this. Sigh...

What about you? Which is your favorite look during the New York Fashion Week? Don't forget to share them at the comments section. XO

Sultry Sunday

I don’t usually go out on Sundays but this last weekend, I wanted to unwind and went to the salon with the boyf. I took advantage of the opportunity to wear my newest purchase: white peep toe pumps.

I opted for a smart yet chic look by pairing my pastel sheer top with skinny jeans and the peep-toe pumps. Love the snakeskin texture on my pumps, too, for an added dose of fierceness into the ensemble. The leaf drop earrings from Love Diva and a floral bangle completed this look. I love how this ensemble was very comfy to wear!

PS: These were the last photos of me before heading to the salon. Can’t wait to share with you my new hair and other styling ideas in the future.

What about you? How was your weekend?  XO

Fash Love: My Favorite ForYou Glamour Earrings

Glamour is one of my favorite designers of fashion jewelries in the country. I simply adore their collection of chic yet affordable accessories such as earrings, necklaces, bangles, and bracelets, to name a few. Whenever I am at the mall, I never fail to drop by their stall and see what new designs they’ve got that I can add into my collection.

Over the past few years, I stocked up on a few earrings off their collection. I like browsing through all of them after dressing up to see which ones would go well with my outfit. Thus, I decided to share with you some of my favorite pieces so far. And I say so far because they have new designs added from time to time, so I’m always on the lookout for those.

Prices range between PhP 150 to PhP 250 and with that price range you can choose between classic, hippy, and elegant designs.

Check out my current faves after the jump…
