OOTD: Summer Essentials

The moment I step out of the house, I can tell it's already summertime because the sun is scorching hot! Thankfully, I just bought myself new cateye sunnies to protect my eyes from the heat. I sported it during my recent trip to Palawan. Aside from my sunnies, this blue crocheted top that I bought few months ago has also become a go-to option with the hot weather. The chiffon fabric is cool against the skin, which provides some relief from the heat. Plus, the knitted detailing on the shoulder also feels very light to wear.

What's been your summer go-to fash?

 Celeb Fash

I went red-carpet spotting (again!) at this week's 2013 Kids' Choice Awards. Honestly, this isn't a must-watch for me when it comes to red carpet fashion. But still, I spotted a few things that I like. My top pick would've to be Jessica Alba, though. She looks perfect!

Statement Necklace

When it comes to shopping, I am hands down a comfort girl. I would never wear anything that I am not comfortable in. However, I have opened up more recently and considering fashion-forward items that will amp up my outfit to another level. Statement necklaces are one of those trends that I had been keeping a close eye on. And so I finally dove into the trend by purchasing my own statement necklace. On my recent trip, I thought it might be the perfect opportunity to sport them along with my tube dress. There is a lot of volume on this necklace, which makes it perfect for a tube dress because it draws more attention towards the neckline. I bought this at a local boutique, by the way, called Marmalade Boutique. This also works as my date night outfit on a Friday night. The boyf loved it!

How did you like my statement necklace? If you'd like to add more into your collection, here are some of the beautiful statement necklaces I found online.

Do you like wearing statement necklaces, too?

Pretty in Pink

Even when on vacation, I always grab at any opportunity to look fab. In fact, the boyf joked about the fact that I just can't seem to learn the art of packing light. Boys... Anyway, here's one of the looks that I sported while on vacation. This is one of my favorite sheer tops, a pink one, which you might have already seen me wear here. I paired it with a blue, lace pencil skirt that I bought from Invogue, one of my favorite online sellers. I also accessorized with my pink round studs and native candy bags I bought at one of the tourist shops in the city earlier during the day. And for a complete pink-y ensemble, I put on EB's Pink Flame matte lipstick.

I wore this as we headed to the Baywalk, one of the popular tourist spots in Puerto Princesa, as per the recommendation of the hotel staff. There, we enjoyed the beautiful sunset and had dinner at one of many food stalls in the area. Of course, we had seafood dinner! Yum!

What do you think of my pink ensemble?

Hello Summer 2013!

Since the start of 2013, I had been anticipating for summer to arrive because I've lots of things planned out. And my recent trip to Puerto Princesa City in Palawan is my official kick off to the season. I had a blast, obviously, and can't wait to visit the city again!

Here are some of the activities I filled my time with there, as well as a glimpse into my summer style.

Caving & Underground River Tour

On my second day at Puerto Princesa, we visited two tourist spots - Ugong Rock Cave and the Underground River. The latter is something that I was really looking forward to because it was just recently recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. It was beautiful and awe-inspiring! I think everyone should have a chance to see something like that.

Island Hopping

This adventure took us to 3 different locations: Pambato Reef, Cowrie Island, and Pandan Island. The first stop is Pambato Reef wherein we got the opportunity to do some snorkeling and get a first-hand view of the beautifully preserved corals. After that, we headed to Cowrie Island wherein I enjoyed swimming in the pristine waters. Pandan Island was our final stop in the island hopping tour wherein we had lunch, lounge at the beach, and did some more swimming. I was seriously hoping to get a tan. Ha

During our last night, boyf surprised me with a bouquet of flowers, too. This is what I found on the bed as we were preparing to leave for dinner.

How are you spending your spring & summer?

P.S. - Watch out for a series of outfit posts taken from this vacation! xo

Celebrity Fash: Blake Lively

I'm no Gossip Girl fan but I am a big follower of Blake Lively's style. She is undeniably one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. I love her legs and how she works a short dress in the red carpet. Over the years, I've had a few favorite looks of her on the red carpet. But she does not stop looking good even when she is doing errands or some retail therapy.
