Daisy Skirt + Huge Announcement

I find it difficult to turn down an adorable skirt. I've been obsessed with them lately (if you haven't noticed). They're so easy to wear and style that I do not have to spend a great deal of time planning an outfit... like this one.

I've had this daisy print skirt on my wishlist for a long time. It took me a while to finally decide to click on the "Add to Cart" button. I tried to talk myself out of buying a new skirt, thinking I don't need a new one. But then I gave in to the urge and decided to buy the skirt. And I was happy I did.

This is one of my favorite looks that I sported during my vacation to Malaysia. The ballerina top from HerBench provided enough comfort while the skirt added the chic factor to my outfit. I love the flared bottom to give the look an ultra girl-y feel. However, I had to wear a scarf over it when we visited the Batu Caves because I was told it was a tad too short. Oops!

This skirt was one of my favorites in the most recent batch of orders I got from SheInside. The fabric is of high quality - which is really important for me. The back of the skirt is also garterized so you do not have to worry about getting the measurements exactly right when you order it from the site. As of now, I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time you'd be seeing this skirt on my blog. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)

Meanwhile, for some exciting news: we just got ENGAGED! I wanted to wait a while before I make this big reveal on my blog. It happened during our trip in Malaysia. To be specific, we were on our very first cable car ride when he proposed to me. We were on our way to Genting Highland on a cable car when in the middle of the ride, he suddenly played the song "Marry Me" by Train. I looked him in the eye and can tell that he was getting misty-eyed. I knew he was about to do something special when he started doing this monologue. And then... he got down on one knee. That is when he whipped out the ring! I have no clear memory of what happened after because everything felt like a blur to me. At the same time, it seemed like time stood still. Surreal is an understatement. It took me about 2 to 3 hours to allow the feelings to sink in. Good thing my friends were able to capture a video so we'd have something to look back on and re-live this moment for years to come.

Here is a glimpse of my outfit during my travel and a glimpse of my engagement ring. The ring itself is a princess cut white diamond in a white gold band adorned with 14 diamonds. I am not too big on fancy jewelries but he did a great job choosing this ring! The ring is reflective of my personal style - subtle but sophisticated and feminine.

Do you feel the same way about skirts?

Floral Dress from SheInside.com

I have always professed that I do not fit into a single style category. I can go from feminine to preppy to glam on a whim, depending on my mood or the occasion. However, I cannot deny that I lean towards feminine style more often than I'd like to admit (as exemplified by my unyielding love for anything floral or lace). So when SheInside.com reached out to me for a collaboration, I was thrilled to be able to sample one of their items. Subconsciously, I picked out another floral beauty, yet again.

This floral split-sleeve dress caught my eye instantly. The floral print looks delicate and makes a style statement on its own. Hence, I did not feel the need to accessorize it. It has the casual feel to it (which was how I styled this particular dress in this shoot), but you can also accessorize it to work for a glam or evening soiree (switch the flats to a pump or stiletto). Apart from the cute floral print, the versatility is also something that makes this dress worth the investment. And oh, it is made with chiffon, so the material is very light on your skin and easy to put on - don't you just hate dresses that require someone else's help to put on?

I have been reading a lot about Sheinside.com and was glad to finally be able to speak for myself. I love this dress and I cannot wait to sample more items off of the site.

How would you style this type of dress?
