Lashes and Lips

Top: Tosave (c/o)
Skirt: Oasap
Bag: Michael Kors
Watch: JORD (c/o)
Earrings: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Shoes: Sammydress (c/o)
The eyelash and lip print tee is all over the blogosphere. I am well aware of that but I am shamelessly joining in on the bandwagon. This print is simply too cute to pass up. I have actually worn this tee several times since it arrived in the mail. However, this look that I am sharing with you today is my favorite way that I have styled this tee.

Top: Tosave (c/o)
Skirt: Oasap
Bag: Michael Kors
Watch: JORD (c/o)
Shoes: Sammydress (c/o)
Earrings: Twinkledeals (c/o)

This mermaid tail skirt from Oasap has been featured plenty of times in this blog (see original post here). In real life, it has served its purpose quite well. The reason why I like it so much is because it instantly dresses up simple outfits, just like this lash and lip print tee. The color also commands attention and anyone who knows me knows that I love adding color to my outfit. For casual weekends, this look will definitely be my new staple.

How would you style this printed tee?

Fashion Pairing: High Neck Top + Statement Earrings

A statement jewelry is an important part of any fashionable woman's arsenal. It can provide that stylish twist to an outfit to make it look more dressed up or polished. However, you can only achieve that if you can strike up the right pairing. There are different ways to accessorize different necklines or type of dress. Make sure you get the pairing right to maximize the style statement that you can deliver.

When it comes to styling high neck pieces (such as a top or dress), you can make them stand out even more with statement earrings. High neck tops have that elegant flair to them but you can make it even more glamorous by pairing it with statement earrings. Below are some pairings that I would love to try and hope they would give you some inspiration too:

Rachel Zoe Cynthia Blouse + Ben Amun Embellished Chandelier Earrings
Emerson Thorpe Silk Top + Lizzie Fortunato Havana Earrings
Sea Pleated Mock Neck Blouse + Miguel Ases Adele Earrings
Marissa Webb Crop Top + Kate Spade Color Crush Linear Earrings
Matin Brittany Lace Top + Deepa Gurnani Lieu Earrings

Which pairing is your favorite?

DIY Projects: How to Make Your Own Invitations

via

In case you didn't know, we did our own invites for our wedding! We did not want to scrimp on other services like the photographer, videographer and caterer. But with wedding invitations, we felt like it was something that we can take on by ourselves and come up with something creative so we can stick to our budget. With a little help from our creative friends, we managed to pull it through! In fact, many of our guests could not believe it when we told them that we did our own invites!

If you have creative skills then you can certainly go for it, whether you are creating beautiful baby shower invitations for girls, kids or adults birthday invitations, or save the date cards - you will find the experience fun and extra special.

Set Your Budget

Before you take on any project, it is important to determine your budget. This will impact various other aspects of your project such as choosing the type of paper you use, the extent of the design and the types of materials you use for decoration.

Use a Basic Template

You can use the internet to research on basic invite templates. You can use them as jump-off point for creating your own designs. Starting off with a pre-made template will make your job easier as you simply have to add in the specific details of the design you want.

Get Creative

This is the most fun yet trickiest part! It is easy to get carried away when decorating. Learn to practice design control such that you only add in what is necessary. A poorly designed invite is just as bad as an overly done invite. You must know how to evaluate your own work.

Thankfully, there are plenty of services these days that enable you to order pre-made or customized invitations online. This is a lifesaver for anyone like me who do not trust their own creative skills. All you have to do is select from several design options to suit the occasion and the theme. You can personalize the details and additional finishes to give it a personalized touch. It's the easiest way to achieve a professional-looking invite without the cost!

Whatever your wedding theme is, you can find plenty of ideas for beautiful DIY wedding invitations. You can check out some of the designs you can make for different occasions below:

Cure for Rainy Days

Coat via Fashionmia

The weather hasn't been the best recently. Since the new year, it has been raining non-stop. I have spent my days at home and I can't even be bothered to go out. But then I quickly reminded myself of my goals for 2017. I can't start the year slacking off. There I was braving the rain in an effort to shoot some photos for this blog.

Dress: Sammydress
Coat: Fashionmia (c/o)
Shoes: Steve Madden (sold out, similar)
Earrings: Mod & Soul (c/o)

I was also slightly thankful for this cold weather since I got the opportunity to wear this coat from Fashionmia. Living in the tropics, the rain provided the only escape from the heat and humidity. This put a stall on my fashion dreams of donning a coat. I took this rainy season as the perfect opportunity to wear my coat. For a coat with such superb quality, it can't be left to gather dust in my closet. It comes with a thick material to provide the right amount of insulation without being too heavy. The faux suede finish and navy color combine to give it a sophisticated look.

It might seem shallow that I am only happy with the rain since I got to wear my coat. However, there is a deep message embedded here, which is also something I can take with me for 2017. You cannot control some factors in your life (such as the rain which has made a lazy girl out of me). But instead of trying to change what you can't, look at how you can make the situation better. If it requires me being more stylish, then I'd be the first to grab at the chance!

What to Do in Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok was everything that I expected it to be... and more. It is my favorite city that I've traveled to in Southeast Asia, so far. I love the overall vibe, the wide range of attractions, and the people. They are the friendliest locals I've ever encountered and that is despite of the language barrier. If you are planning to travel to the city, make sure you check out my recommendations on what to do in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tour the Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha

You can't say you've been to Bangkok unless you visited the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). This is a complex of buildings that include the royal palace (official residence of the King of Thailand), numerous other buildings, the temple of the Emerald Buddha, open lawns and courtyards. You can visit the Grand Palace (some parts of it are closed to the public) for 500 Baht. It is a must-see and you'll want to take a lot of photos while in there because of the elaborately designed structures that will leave you in awe.

Take the Khlong Tour

Another great way to experience Bangkok is via the long-tailed (and vibrantly colored) speedboats as they navigate the canals of Bangkok traveling from one side to the other. We took a Khlong Tour that is priced at 700 Baht (per person) and the tour will last for about an hour. We took a few stops along the way including the opportunity to see the statue of the 9-face Buddha.

Explore Khao San Road

This is the place to go to when you want to enjoy the nightlife in Bangkok. Unfortunately, Thailand was still in a mourning state following the death of their beloved King during our visit. Hence, the mood was quite somber and there were not much partying going on. It was still vibrant though with lots of tourists enjoying street food and having a drink.

Go Shopping

Shopping was my favorite activity in Bangkok - aside from sightseeing, of course! But it is amazing how many great deals you can find in Bangkok. I loved visiting the Chatuchak Weekend Market (also known as JJ Weekend Market). You can find a lot of locally made, handcrafted items that are sold at great prices. This market, obviously, is open only during weekends so make sure you allot time for the weekends to visit this place while in Bangkok.

Eat Street Thai Food

I love Thai food; save for the overly spicy Pad Thai that were served to us in a few restaurants. Although I am not into spicy foods, the ones that I tried were exemplary. Even the street food was amazing. We spent most of our time in Bangkok enjoy their local dishes and it's one of the things that I miss most about the city. In Bangkok, you will definitely be spoiled for options when it comes to food.

Explore Asiatique

This was one part of the trip that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did. Asiatique is an open-air mall that offers plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options. You can go to Asiatique to eat, watch live performances or ride the ferris wheel, which is 60-meters high with 42 gondolas. Be prepared to wait in a long queue if you do, though!

Visit Siam Park

If you want pure wholesome fun, a visit to Siam Park City (also known as Siam Water Park) is a must. We purchased a 1-day pass worth 1,100 Baht, which is inclusive of entrance to all park rides and a buffet lunch. It was definitely worth it as we got to try many theme park rides and swim at the wave pool. If you are traveling with kids to Bangkok, I highly recommend you visit this attraction!

Planning a trip to Bangkok? Hope this travel guide helped you with some ideas on what to do in Bangkok, Thailand.
