Shopping 101: Beach Wedding Dresses from Cocomelody

Romantic without the fuss. These are characteristics that define the perfect beach wedding dress. For someone who recently tied the knot, I can say with certainty that finding the perfect wedding dress is one of the most important parts of wedding planning. If you are planning a beach wedding, you can't just wear ANY dress. You have to consider the elements and the theme so that your dress style will complement your wedding theme. I have collaborated with Cocomelody to help narrow down your options to three wedding dress styles that are perfect for a destination or beach wedding.

Smooth and feminine silhouette. This is the very factor that makes deep V neck, sheath dresses perfect for a beach wedding. As a bonus, this type of beach wedding dresses are casual enough to suit the theme. The use of lace and tulle add more feminine flair to the dress.

Cap Sleeve Dresses

If you're not a fan of sleeveless dresses, a beach wedding is one of those instances that allow you to get away with wearing cap sleeves. It is also the perfect combination of traditional and modern wedding dress style.

Spaghetti Strap Dresses

The most common type of wedding dress worn to a beach wedding are those with spaghetti straps. It is casual enough for a beach wedding and glamorous enough for you to look like one stunning bride on your most important day.

What to Wear to a Casual Beach Wedding

June is famously known for being the wedding month. Indeed, a lot of women aspire to become a June bride, so don't be surprised if your mailbox start to fill up with wedding invitations. It is also summer in the US, although start of the rainy season here in the Philippines (insert frown here), so a lot of these weddings tend to take place in the beach. There is a wide range of beach wedding dress for brides who want to look their best. But if you've been invited to a beach wedding, the next big question you often find yourself asking is this: what to wear?

Don't stress yourself out trying to find the perfect dress. Here are some tips that will help make your search a bit easier:

Think about a dress that would fit the beach. Anything floral or a sundress would work in this sense. However, pay close attention to the wedding invitation if its a casual or semi-formal beach wedding. You can play up your accessories to end up with a casual or semi-formal attire even when you're wearing a sundress or floral maxi to the event.

Choose practical, not tacky, footwear. You can go for flats or peep toes. And no, flip-flops are a no-no even for casual beach weddings.

Consider the elements. Don't wear dresses that are too light as they might be blown off by the ocean breeze. Also, think about the sand when you are determining your footwear and the length of your dress.

Here are three outfit ideas that you can play with or get inspiration from:
