Since we purchased our new home, I've enjoyed the process of buying furniture, decorating and styling. It is not a cheap venture, which is probably why we've taken it slow and steady. If you are in the same stage as we are, you know how difficult but rewarding this process can be. But if there is one aspect of the home that I feel most special about, it would be the bathroom. Like the kitchen, it is one of the most functional rooms in the house. While most homeowners would think last of the bathroom when it comes to decorating the home, I am different. Bathroom for me is the most essential. You need to double your effort at keeping it clean and beautiful. I want it to be a refuge for respite and relaxation.

In the past year or so, I've been slowly but surely working on the interior of our home. It would have been tempting to just hire a professional to do the interior decorating but I wanted this to be a labor of love. I wanted to pick out the details that I wanted and make it work. It's not easy but one of the most rewarding things I've done in my life. Our first year at home was tough on our bank account since my then-boyfriend and I paid for all of the cost on our wedding. Hence, we literally started from scratch by the time we moved in- buying one furniture piece at a time. More than a year later, our house really does feel like a home now and I love that it has become both a place where we invest all of our hard work in. There is still a lot of work to be done and I think that we're just chipping away at the tip of the iceberg. We are also going to get some renovations and extension projects done either late this year or early next year. Fingers crossed on that so I can finally take on some changes on our interior design.
