Shopbop Sale: 25% Off

Good news everyone! I hope you are having a great week so far; but I am about to make it better with an excellent sale from Shopbop! You can get 25% off with the code: INTHEFAM25

If you have been meaning to add new fall items to your closet, now is the best time to do so as you can get huge savings! Exclusions apply to this promotion though so make sure to check here for more details on those exclusions. Speaking of fall favorites, I have a few things that covet like turtlenecks and sweaters! And there is one designer brand that I've been eyeing on for simple and chic fall essentials: Cupcakes and Cashmere. If the name sounds familiar, it's because this is the same line from A-list fashion blogger, Emily Schuman. I can't help but be inspired how she turned her lifestyle blog into a brand and now a fashion maven.

Below are my favorites from her collection:

Shop the Sweaters / Knits Collection
Shop Dresses and Tops
Meanwhile, you can also get these fall booties as part of the sale:

Vince Booties / Sam Edelman Booties / Joe's Jeans Booties / Sarah Flint Booties

This is a limited time offer! The promotion ends October 15, 2015, at 11:59 PM PT.

What will you get for yourself (or your family) with this sale?

Sweater Weather

When the cold months come rolling around, you need to have a few cozy pieces to add to your wardrobe rotation. One of my favorite things to wear during the cooler months are sweaters/sweater tops. Sweaters are versatile and easy to wear or style. I've curated a few finds from two of my favorite places to shop online (Shein and Lulu's) that you may want to add to your fall/winter looks:

Blue Cable Knit Sweater / Burgundy Cable Knit Sweater
Beige Sweater / Black and Ivory Cropped Sweater
Light Grey Sweater / Light Grey Cropped Cable Knit Sweater
Grey Dip Hem Ombre Sweater / V-Neck Apricot Sweater / Striped Slim Sweater

I love adding knit sweaters to my wardrobe because they are easy to transition and can be worn for not-so-cold days, too. Do any of these sweaters catch your fancy? What is your cold weather essential?

Mint and Blue

Pastel colors make me happy. Whether it's mint, peach or blush, I always try to incorporate these shades into my wardrobe and everyday style. Aside from the fact that they give me that happy vibe, they are also highly versatile and can work with several different colors. One of my favorite ways to wear my favorite colors is to go for the monotone look, specifically pairing two items of the same color but of different shades or hues for my outfit.

This cobalt pencil skirt I got from Persunmall has been a good investment piece. My favorite way to wear it is with sweater tops or long sleeved tops, like this new one from For Me. The sheer simplicity of the top belies the style statement it makes. I decided to throw in my pink necklace to add some dose of fun into the look.

What is your favorite way to style a pencil skirt?

Vacation Style: Part 2

On our second day at Dahilayan Adventure Park, I sported pastel colors and I just loved how comfortable this ensemble is. The shorts might look familiar; it's because I've done a post about it here. I got it from SheInside.com and is one of my favorite purchases from the website apart from this lovely maxi dress. But I digress... I loved the pairing of color with the coral shorts and the mint top. I also added in my new floral scarf to create a layering effect to this look.

Aside from the fun marriage of pastel colors in this look, this outfit served its purpose for me. It was comfortable enough for me to wear on a few zip line rides and for hiking around the park. I would not compromise comfort, not even for the sake of style.

What is your ideal vacation style?

Vacation Style: Part 1

I got back from my long awaited vacation about a week ago, so this is going to be a late post. I went away to Dahilayan Adventure Park, about 6-7 hours from where I live, for a couple of days for a much needed retreat. It's amazing how two days of break from the everyday cycle of life and work can make such a difference. I went back feeling rejuvenated albeit slightly tired from the travel. But still, it was everything we planned it to be... only so much better!

Since we were going somewhere over 4,000 feet above sea level, I expect to enjoy some cold weather. Hence, I went on a shopping hunt for a sweater top I can wear. Ordering online was not an option because the shipping could take several weeks and I knew that it wouldn't make it in time for my vacation. My search came to an end at Terranova. I found this teal sweater and at a sale at that! The shorts is from A&F while my shoes is the trusty Converse.

During the night, the temperature continued to drop. I decided to add in my scarf to add some more warmth, although I made the sorry mistake of taking off my shoes for some sandals. Still, we had a lovely dinner (even though I badly did not want to get up from my bed) and I even managed to go outside for a few minutes (two minutes, at max) for some photos.

Were you able to enjoy some time off recently?
