Color Me Happy

Top: Forever 21
Skirt: CNDirect (c/o)
Clutch: CNDirect (c/o)
Earrings: Happiness  Boutique (c/o)
Sandals: Mendrez

When I am made to pick between a monochrome vs a colorful outfit, I'd pick color without hesitation. I am of the opinion that the more colorful an outfit is, the better. Life is so much fun when there is color involved, agree?

Hence, this is how this look came about... I love this blue pleated maxi skirt because, well, I simply am addicted to the color. Apparently, the vibrant blue color isn't enough that I went for the red cami top from Forever 21 to pair it with. I bought several of this top from Forever 21 in various color options - these are such staple pieces and are essential to have in your closet. I bought them in basic colors for easy mixing and matching.

I'm all smiles in this photo because, obviously, the burst of color makes me happy. Do you love colorful outfits too? Or are you a monochrome fan?

Wishlist: Straw Bags

There are a few fashion pieces that are directly linked to a season and that is no truer for straw bags in the summer time. It's time to switch up your leather totes for a casual but chic straw bag that is quite versatile. These bags are perfect for a day trip to the beach but equally fashionable to wear with a dress while you are out and about. That's my favorite part about the warmer months - you can take casual styles to a whole new level. Whether you are looking for a simple, stretchy and slouchy bag or seeking ones with a lot of structure (and are well made), I got you covered:

Do you love straw bags for summer too?

Summer Prints Series: Tropical

During summer, if I want to deviate from floral, there is one other go-to print for me: palm/tropical prints. I like to wear palm and tropical prints anytime of the year too, so I can bring that summer vibe with me (proof here and here). One other thing that I like most about the tropical print? It creates that perfect vacation look! I mean, just look at the maxi dress that I've linked below and those gorgeous bikini sets!

Tropical Off-Shoulder Top / Green Tropical Maxi Dress / Jungle Print Skater Dress
Drawstring Palm Print Shorts / Black and White Tropical Print Shift Dress / Contemporary Tropical A-Line Skirt
Coconut Palm Bikini Set / Tropical Rainforest Halter Bikini Set / Tropical Leaves Bikini Set

Are you dreaming of a beach escape yet? What is/are your favorite/s from my picks?

Rompers & Jumpsuits for Every Budget

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love rompers! It is one of those articles of clothing that I was having second thoughts to try at first but has now become my favorite. It is especially a must in my summer wardrobe because it is easy to style and wear. A romper offers the chic element to your outfit like a dress does but with the comfort of wearing shorts. But as much as I love to splurge on rompers and jumpsuits and buy every single one I see, I can't. So, if you're like me whose budget-conscious but want to get your fill on the latest romper styles, below are my picks for under and over $100 rompers and jumpsuits. Feel free to shop if you want to save or splurge a bit:

Over $100

6 Shore Road by Pooja Lace Romper / Rachel Pally Drake Jmpsuit / Lovers + Friends Kristine Romper

Which of these two categories would you see yourself buying from? See how I styled rompers in the past:

Save vs Splurge: Summer Shoe Edition

The last time I did a Save vs Splurge post, I received a good response from my readers. Hence, I decided to do it again this time focusing on one of my favorite trends of the moment: lace up shoes. I have been coveting them and love my lace up shoes in all forms: espadrilles, heels, flats and sandals. If you are in the market to add new lace up shoes to your closet, I'm going to show you two options according to your budget.

Splurge: Carina Suede Espadrille Wedge / Save: Faux Suede Wedge Sandals
Splurge: Minimal Lace Up Heel / Save: Lace-Up Peep-Toe Booties

Wedding Guest Dresses

Although it's pretty hard to admit, I am on that stage in my life wherein my friends are either getting married or having a baby! It's unbelievable but I love it. I am so ready to leave my 20's behind and look forward to the next chapter of my life. After having recently tied the knot, I have grown a deeper appreciation for being invited to a wedding. Since we had an intimate wedding, we decided to invite only the most special and closest people to our hearts. Thus, when I do get invited for a wedding, I always try to make an effort about what I wear. It is the modest thing to do. If you're attending any wedding soon, I'd help you pick out what to wear.

Here are some of my recommendations for wedding guest dresses according to the theme:

Formal Wedding

Black Maxi Dress / Royal Blue Maxi Dress / Red Lace Maxi Dress
eShakti Virginia Dress / Peach Midi Dress / Ivory Lace Midi Dress

Semi-Formal Wedding

One Shoulder Bodycon Dress / Light Blue Midi Dress / Yumi Kim Silk Dress
Beach or Casual Wedding

Ruffle Cami Dress / Floral Maxi Dress / Yumi Kim Floral Dress

Which of these wedding guest dresses would you pick out?

What is a better choice of clothing to wear during the hot spring and summer days than dresses? Personally, I am all about maxi and midi dresses. When it comes to style, these two types of dresses are effortlessly chic and stylish. But the unparalleled level of comfort is something worth noting.

Shops like Forever 21 have a host of these dresses to choose from. If you’re ready to stock up on new maxi and midi dresses, I’ve got quite a hefty selection for you. But I’d like to take this poll: are you into maxi or midi dresses?
