Holiday Must-Have: Glam Accessories

Accessories can make or break an outfit. Adding the right accessory can make a somewhat casual look more dressed up. In fact, a simple top and jeans can look ultra chic when you add a few statement jewelry into the mix. Indeed, accessories has been my saving grace and I love how I have come to embrace them and master its use to liven up the detail of my outfit. Who has the time to dress up for work every single day? A necklace or bracelet that screams "look at me!" can make a world of difference.

But there should be a subtlety in its use, too. I've seen a few people commit the fashion faux pas of trying to put too many statement pieces together. I tell you - it's not good to look at. Thus, I've been straddling through this with sufficient caution so I don't end up like a walking jewelry stand.

With holiday parties on the horizon, glam accessories (read: lots of gold and glitter!) are going to be a staple piece in everyone's holiday outfit. For instance, a strapless frock paired with a bun and some statement gold chain necklace will surely up the ante as far as your holiday wear is concerned. If you haven't started shopping yet, here are some picks that I spotted that would seriously glam up any holiday outfit:

Clockwise: Link-Well Gold Rhinestone Bracelet | Clear as Day Rhinestone Lucite Earrings | Rings True Gold Rhinestone Necklace | Link-a-Gem Rhinestone Silver Watch | Candy Crystal Clear Ring | Hide and Sequin Silver Sequin Clutch | Anne Michelle Enzo 53 Gold Crisscrossing Ankle Strap Heels

How high are glitters, gold, and sequins in your holiday wear priority list?

Holiday Wishlist: Party Dresses

Aside from the food, there is one thing that you can expect a lot of this coming holidays: parties! Whether I'm attending parties with friends or corporate events, dressing up is highest in my priority list. I do like to glam it up once in a while but your options shouldn't be limited by the party's dress code. Good thing, online shops and boutiques have stocked up on plenty of party dresses to choose from. But if the sheer volume of choices can overwhelm you, here's a trick you can try: categorize your dress options into three different looks and narrow down your choices based on what kind of look you're aiming for.

1 / 2 / 3
Laces, silk, and lots of delicate patterns and fabrics. Most glam dresses are simple in cut but makes up for it by the delicate nature of the pattern and fabric. I definitely have an unyielding love for lace but an LBD or LWD are old standbys, too.

12 / 3
Fun and flirty dresses are ideal for casual to semi-casual holiday parties. Make sure to opt for short frocks to maintain that flirty vibe. However, try to play it up with quirky patterns and colors to give a somewhat naughty twist to a simple frock.

1 / 2 / 3
This is the go-to option for cocktail events or corporate parties this December. Color block designs are the most distinctive element of sophisticated dresses. In addition, it teases by not revealing too much. If you've got the curves, this is one look that you will definitely be able to pull off!

It's November at last! If you're wondering why I am so excited, let me fill you in: it's our anniversary month. This year will be our 7th and that's a huge deal! There is also my birthday coming up (the day after our anniversary) but I am more excited about the latter, really.

However, we aren't here to talk about my personal life but rather my incurable impulse to shop, shop, shop! My boyfriend's going to kill me for this - but I haven't really stuck to my promise to limit my purchasing habit as we're both trying to save up. It sure is easier said than done, especially when you spot these cute items off the rack. Here are some of the items that had caught my fancy of late:

Holiday Makeup Guide

Most women tend to worry about what outfit and shoes to wear for a slew of holiday parties. Sure, you can do an extensive search for the best dress and shoes to wear to the party but you can ruin all of your hard work by not wearing the right makeup. One of the most important tricks to deciding what kind of makeup to wear is to think first of your personality and then the type of event you are headed to. You want to use the makeup to complement your natural beauty, instead of trying to fit your personality into it. After that, you can have so much more fun with your look!

Your eye makeup, to be specific, is something that you should focus on. The eyes draw a lot of attention in itself and if you can pull off your eye makeup, then half the battle is done. The safest bet for the holidays would be to add some shimmer into your eyes by using silver eye shadow palette. Make sure to add some into the inner corners of the eyes because that will help to bring out more drama and fierceness to the look.

Or, better yet, you can go for a clean and classic look with a bare makeup. It helps to bring forth a sexy yet classy vibe to your holiday party look.

For women who prefer the traditional look, darker eyes and thick, curly lashes make a great choice. This kind of eye makeup also goes with when you are wearing a sophisticated and classic cut dress.

Here are some other eye makeup ideas to consider:

Go Bare!

Oftentimes, the simplest looks can draw more attention. A lot of men prefer women to keep their colors simple and classic, which is what you can get with a bare makeup. It is also a smart buy if you go bare because you can use these palettes for your everyday neutral looks. For this kind of eye makeup, you will get eye shadows from the following hues: bronze, brown, black, or taupe. Learn more about this look here:

Dare to Stand Out!

Looking for warm yet vibrant eye shadow palettes? Go for eye shadow tones ranging from yellow gold, to rich reds, and light corals. This is a perfect choice for playful women who like to stand out in the crowd. You can go as colorful or as bold as you please! Get more ideas for this look here.

Show Off Your Flare!

You'd have to be bold enough to wear these bright and sophisticated hues for a holiday party, but it will pay off as the iridescent combination of eight over-the-top shades will tell everyone in the party that you have quite the attitude. This is a perfect complement to a fun and edgy look because not every girl can rock these hues. Are you ready to show them your flare? Get more tips to pull off this look here.

Tuesday Ten: Fash Holiday Wishlist

The holiday season is just around the bend. Thus, I thought about creating my own wishlist for the holidays as early as now to beat the holiday rush. And yes, that means I am eager to start my holiday shopping. Hopefully, the boyf gets to read this too so he can help me fulfill my wishlist, lol.

10. Candy bagThese things are just too cute. The more colorful they are, the better.

9. Samsung Galaxy Note II. Just because.

8. My first peplum dress. I don't currently have one but I am digging this trend so much, I am looking to finally get one. Seeing Lauren Cohan's gorgeous leather peplum during the Walking Dead Season 3 premiere made me fall in love.

7. Pink + Yellow Converse. I've never been a sneakers girl, but I want to own one. Getting myself as a gift, then.

6. Lace dress. Yes, as if I haven't got enough in my closet already.

 5. Uber cute bow ring from Posh Locket. To die for.

4. Peachy Rose Studs from Love Diva. I already have the pink one, but I am crushing on this, too.

3. Resistance bands in green or red. It's almost a year since I've had my gym membership and I plan on continuing that until next year. And these bands are my new best friend.

2. New set of workout clothes. Who says you can't workout in style?

1. Floral/colorful blazer. I had been looking for the perfect blazer for some time now, but to no avail. Anything colorful and vibrant will do for me, such as this...
