Boho Chic

I don't really do boho. Pardon me if you feel like this post (and the title) is misleading or not really representative of what constitutes boho style. However, I feel a bohemian vibe to my outfit when I decided to re-mix this pleated maxi skirt that I featured here before. I paired it with my green Old Navy spaghetti strap top.

You see - I had been digging up a few items on my closet that I haven't worn for quite some time. And this maxi skirt fell into that category now. Sobs. This won't be the last time though, I will be sure to get more use for my maxi skirts because apparently my love for anything maxi hasn't died down yet.

Style Crush: Blogger Faves #6

I'm back! This week has been very stylish in the fashion blogosphere it seems like every new outfit I see is a favorite. Then again, it's such a fun hobby to check out new looks that I can (hopefully) try, too. Thank you ladies for the inspiration!

Meanwhile, here are the top five looks that I've seen over the past week or so. A couple of these ladies I've stumbled onto just recently. But I've been a regular reader of Lauren's blog Explore My Style. I mean, if you had the chance to visit her blog, I'm sure you'd be hooked too. Jessica of Afternoon Style is also a long time favorite. Her style is the epitome of simple sophistication.

The three other bloggers I've featured here (Kristin, Kimberly, Christina) are new blogger favorites. I've known most of them through the linkups I've joined in and I would recommend that you join in, too, because you will have lots of opportunities to meet new blogger friends and be inspired at the same time!

The Leopard Scarf

Dressing for the elements will always be the toughest challenge about getting dressed. Things have gotten more tricky of late because the weather has been extremely unpredictable. Some days were really hot but then it's pouring rain at nighttime. Choosing an outfit that transitions from day to night, therefore, takes on a whole new meaning.

Investing in a scarf is something that I have gotten a liking to. Since I had found inspirations for various styles and ways to wear a scarf, I had been putting what I've learned to good use. This leopard scarf that I recently picked up is admittedly a new favorite (my coral scarf remains a top favorite, though, as it was gifted to me by the boyf). I love how wearing it can immediately spice up a simple outfit. And though it's patterned, I can wear it with anything! In fact, I might experiment with pattern mixing this one with a dress (watch out for that). But most importantly, it served its purpose of keeping me warm at night.

November Wishlist

It's November at last! If you're wondering why I am so excited, let me fill you in: it's our anniversary month. This year will be our 7th and that's a huge deal! There is also my birthday coming up (the day after our anniversary) but I am more excited about the latter, really.

However, we aren't here to talk about my personal life but rather my incurable impulse to shop, shop, shop! My boyfriend's going to kill me for this - but I haven't really stuck to my promise to limit my purchasing habit as we're both trying to save up. It sure is easier said than done, especially when you spot these cute items off the rack. Here are some of the items that had caught my fancy of late:

October Roundup

I know this isn't technically the last day of October yet but I am ringing in November's arrival anyway. Can you tell that I love this time of the year? At the same time, I wanted to slow down the pace a bit and enjoy every moment as they come. Thus, I am taking the time to look back on my outfit posts and looks I've featured on the blog in the past month or so (a few from September, too). Be sure to look forward to more of them in the coming month.

Fash Love: Leather

I've been meaning to try wearing leather for a long time but unfortunately the weather here isn't ideal for this kind of fabric. However, I haven't given up on leather just yet, especially when I see adorable leather pieces that look effortlessly chic and edgy. If I can find the perfect piece, you might even see me sporting this on my blog soon.

In the meantime, I love getting inspiration from other fashion bloggers on how to rock leather pieces. But if I ever decide to make this investment, I need to find staple leather pieces that I can mix and match with a variety of other fashion pieces, too. Below are some of my leather must-haves:

 1) BB Dakota Branson Black Dress ($91) - I am a big, big fan of LBD! In fact, if I had to pick a dress that I could wear over and over again, I'd go for an LBD in a heartbeat! Thus, I gushed when I saw this leather piece on Lulu's website because it is simply stunning. The vegan leather provides an edgy vibe to the outfit while the texture of the fabric also gives it more character. Definitely a perfect dress for a nightout or cocktail parties!

2) Steve Madden Pointed Toe High Heel Booties ($ 149) - Oh yes, which girl does not dream of having booties? I specifically wanted to get ankle booties and when I saw these pointed high heeled ones, I was beyond excited! I wish it would magically appear in my shoe closet then I'd be much happier right now!

3) Black Vegan Leather Shorts ($ 40) - The banded waist and flattering high-waisted fit of these shorts are too hot to resist. Indeed, there is nothing like leather shorts to make a style statement if you're confident enough to bare your gams!

4) Black Leather Skinny Pants ($ 47) - Black and skinny are my two favorite things when it comes to pants. Certainly, you can't go wrong with this pick. Plus, it goes with anything!
