Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday break to spend time with your friends and family. I know I did, so I am making the most of my break, even taking a few days off from the blog. Hence, I was happy that Stephanie from Lookbook Store offered to guest post for me today. I am stern in my decision to not accept guest posts in my blog; however, this topic is something that I can relate to and I thought that many of my readers will be able to get a lot of helpful information from the tips she had to share.

Hello there pretties! Since the weather now is pushing us to
layer our clothes to stay warm , today I’m going to talk about cardigans. Here, I listed three popular types of this
clothing piece and each one of them has a picture and some styling tips. Take a
look at them because maybe you can get new clues on how to style cardigans this season.
Oversized Cardigan
Okay, let’s start with the popular choice, the oversized
cardigan or most commonly called the boyfriend- style cardigan. Since it is
such a large piece and we don’t want to look sloppy in it, let’s keep the rest
of the look form-fitting, like matching it with a pair of skinny jeans and a figure-hugging top. But if you
want something that can keep your ladylike figure, you can top it over a nice
dress. The ensemble is pretty especially if they have the same
length.
Drapey Cardigan
What I like about this kind of cardigan is that it has an edgy style, which can add drama to almost every ensemble. Whether you layer it with other cozy garments or add it to a dress for extra warmth, this type of cardigan can be worn again and again. But, there’s a downside to this. A drapey cardigan doesn’t go along with loose-fitting bottoms, such as the boyfriend jeans, because it can make you look wide.
Cropped Cardigan
Since this type of cardigan is short, it can easily draw
attention to the hemline. If you’re on the slender side, matching a cropped
cardigan with skinny jeans and tees is a no brainer for you. But, don’t wear it
with long tops because the contrast of the length can create a weird shape. Do
wear it with a
fit-and-flare dress or high-waist skirt. It’s a pretty ensemble you can
actually wear to work or for shopping with your BFFs.
Cardigans are definitely must-have items for every girl’s
closet not because they’re perfect when sitting by the fireplace while drinking
tea but because they’re fashion value is ethereal.
