I am the biggest floral fan you will ever meet; I guess it is a testament to my love for feminine styles. But florals don't always have to be worn in the summer time. If you're not a fan of the bright and girly style that is associated with the pattern, you can choose dark and moody florals instead. The use of a dark color palette to serve as background for the floral print adds a sense of edge and even a Victorian goth feel to it. Hence, do not be afraid to incorporate florals to your outfit this season.
Below are a few pieces that you can start with. You can add them to your outfit as a focal or accent piece:
Yumi Kim Modern Muse Dress Boho Navy Floral Print Dress JOA Black Floral Print Dress |
Talulah Floral Print Top Clayton Floral Crepe Bodysuit Karen Kane Sheer Floral Overlay Top |
Marc Jacobs Mixed Daisy Flower Tote Kate Spade Floral Print Wallet Adidas by Stella McCartney Floral Backpack |
Vintage Floral Wide Leg Pants Floral Long Kimono Casual Floral Flatform Sneakers |
As you can see, pairing the bright floral blooms against the dark background adds a sense of whimsy to any outfit. It's no wonder that dark florals are seen everywhere these days. You can find them not just in dresses but also in skirts, blazers, kimonos, bags and even shoes! And yet, the floral print does not lose every bit of its lady-like characteristics, which I love!
Which of these piece/s do you like most?
