Save vs Splurge

Holiday shopping is fun but not when you have a limited budget. With a good round of sales here and there, it is too tempting not to give in. But is it REALLY worth splurging on every item you see? Before you decide to jump into buying an item you have an eye for, try looking around for cheaper alternatives. While I do think that designer pieces are also worth investing in for quality, if you need trendy pieces to add to your closet, it is completely OKAY to go on the 'save' route. Let me emphasize that there is nothing wrong with being a cheapskate at all. However, there are some pieces that I would like to get more wear of and therefore opt for the higher end versions. Meanwhile, there are some trendy items that I always put a budget limit on.

Below are some of the pieces I've scoured online with cheaper and higher end options, depending on your budget range:

Black Tassel PU Leather Boots / Oscar de la Renta Jeraline Booties
Red High Heel Pumps / Sergio Rossi Godiva Pumps
Manchester Plaid Scarf / Kate Spade Woodland Plaid Scarf
Leopard Fur Pony Clutch from Lulu's / Clare V Leopard Fold Over Clutch
Black PU Leather Bucket Bag / Michael Kors Miranda Bucket Bag

When it comes to buying cheap items versus more expensive designer items, the debate between quality vs cost always comes up. It is up to you to decide which of these two you prefer. What kind of shopper are you?
