Pantone Color of the Year for 2017: Greenery

Green symbolizes new beginnings. Hence, it was the pick for this year's Pantone color of the year. I love this year's pick because it is fresh and vibrant, no pun intended. Green is one of my favorite colors and being the nature lover that I am, I love how it represents energy and renewal. And these are the exact same premises behind the choice. In a way, it also serves a larger purpose as it is a way to use fashion and beauty as a representation of the need to shift towards greener options: in terms of clothing, architecture, lifestyle and urban planning.

Tropical Suit

When I saw this two-piece suit from Choies, I was instantly drawn to summer time. The print and the color are both fresh and vibrant. Hence, I like to wear this suit as is - with only my sunnies as the accessory. With summer on the horizon, this two-piece suit is going to be getting a lot of wear, I predict.

This is my second purchase from Choies and as equally pleased as the first one. Even when I think I'm more adept at online shopping, it is still a hit-and-miss scenario with a few online shops. Not this one though. Oh, and did I mention I got it on sale? Double win!

The Little Green Dress

In my recent shopping haul at SheInside.com, I picked up this green casual dress because I was looking for an easy dress for day wear. I could not have been more spot-on with this dress. The color was exactly as pictured on the website and it fits very nicely. The flare at the bottom half of the dress made it look somewhat flirty. It also comes with a cinched waist to give your figure some shape rather than allow the dress to look too flouncy. 

I decided to play along with the flirty vibe of the dress by wearing my black wedge and styling my hair into a side braid. I cannot wait to recreate this look for an upcoming vacation (except of course replace my wedges with flats or sandals for a more comfortable look).

Snakeskin + Green

I have a confession to make: I hate wearing high heels! I would wear them only on ocassion because my feet and high heels are not, let's put it as this, exactly besties. However, there are days wherein high heels are my only possible option for footwear. I also have a huge selection of pointed pumps in my closet. I have a basic black and nude ones, but I just recently added a new one to my growing collection. Quite ironic, huh? 

My newest pointed pumps come with a snakeskin texture and brown color. I love shoes that make a statement in and of itself. And this one does quite the same! I wore it to work one day pairing it with a basic, loose green top and skinny jeans. You can't get more casual than that!

Think Green

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am a girly-girl at heart. I do like to engage in sports on occasion, but I prefer to wear sandals, heels, and sundresses on most days. Hence, my outfit one particular day was something that might surprise many who know me. In fact, the boyf liked it so much that we had to chronicle this look. 

I wore my Green converse sneakers with skinny jeans and green Old Navy tank top. I paired it with the Michel Klein blazer that I've already featured here. This look is so uncharacteristic of me but I had so much fun tweaking my fashion choices recently that I figured I might try this kind of look again in the future.
