Maxi Street Style

I hope you're not sick and tired of my travel posts by now. I took a lot of outfit photos during my trip and I wanted to chronicle them here on my blog via outfit posts. Sorry I'm not sorry. But I still hope you enjoy them...

Now that that is out of the way, I have another look that I'd like to share off of my stay in KL. This is one of my favorite maxi skirts that I own because the color is a dream. Teal is one of my favorite colors of all-time, aside from cobalt. And even though I do not own much of this color in my wardrobe, I've always been drawn to it. For a fun street style, I decided to pair the skirt with something bold, not a neutral color like you'd expect.

Continue browsing below to find more photos of me wearing this outfit during a day of shopping in KL:

Just chilling at Raja Chulan Mall
After walking around for more than 2 hours, I deserve this break.
Another break, this time with Starbucks and Gelatomio

How would you style this maxi skirt?

June Remix: Monochrome

Putting together an outfit is a fun experiment, I just discovered recently. If you would have asked me to remix and re-wear the same pieces a few years ago, I would've found the thought taxing and a waste of time. It's a whole new story this time around, though. I take great pleasure out of trying out different combinations of fashion pieces. Sometimes, I surprise myself with the result!

This look is a result of one of those experiments I did. I've been fond of skirts lately so I was looking for a new way to wear this skirt, which you've already seen me wear here. The natural inclination was to pick a top that was of the opposing or complementing color scheme. But I stumbled upon this chevron stripes top with the same color scheme. I decided to go with a monochrome look instead. My reliable flats completed the look for a casual dinner with my man.

Are you a fan of monochromatic outfit?

Casual Stripes + Persunmall Review

Aside from floral and polka, stripes is one of my favorite patterns to wear. It is a classic for a reason. It never goes out of style and provides endless opportunities to mix with other patterns or neutral pieces. Needless to say, stripes are never boring. This shirt dress was therefore a great pick-me-up when I was looking for something casual to wear on a Friday date night.

The dress was made in cotton so it feels light and breathable to the skin when worn. It can also work as a long top, which makes it an even better investment in my book. For the accessories, I picked items that would accentuate the color of the dress, such as this geometric shape necklace.

My favorite accessory, though, was the delicate shiny rhinestone bracelet I ordered off Persunmall. The twisting pattern and the gorgeous rhinestones make it look ultra delicate. The versatiltity of this piece of accessory has to be noted though. Even though it worked well with a casual outfit, it is ideal for a semi- to formal outfit.

This dress is one of my favorite buys of late! What do you think?

Outfit Posts: First Quarter of 2014

With the change of new year came a major change in my life, too. And with that, I have decided to take on a bigger role with handling my blog and take things a step further. I am so glad I have made that choice because there has been nothing less of blessings and opportunities that have paved their way for me. And I am pretty hopeful that things will continue to look up as the rest of the year unravels.

Before we officially welcome May, I thought it might be fun to re-live some of my favorite outfit posts in the blog so far.
