Lucky Playsuit / Ashanti Brazil

Playsuit: Ashanti Brazil / Necklace: ZNU / Boots: So Fab / Watch: Borrowed (boyfriend's)

I need to share an interesting story about this playsuit... I won it via a giveaway that Ashanti Brazil was holding on their Twitter account. That is a BIG deal! I never win in a raffle! I figured to give it a shot and send my entry because I loved the playsuit that they were giving away. And lo and behold... I won it! I have an important life lesson to share here: don't ever pre-judge yourself. Just because I have an unlucky streak when it comes to any kind of raffle, does not mean I won't ever win. So the moment you begin to self-doubt, just give it a go and you could be rewarded for it!

As for the playsuit, I loved it! The lace trims along the hem of the playsuit made it look sexy and edgy at the same time. The material is also very good quality and comfortable when worn. It looks like the ideal playsuit to wear on vacation; hence, it makes me feel slightly bad that I am not shooting these photos while on vacation. But then again, I know what to pack on my next vacation! The neckline is also a darling detail although I prefer it to be not as low as it is - there is nothing that you can't fix with a little tailoring job though.

Overall, I am very happy with this playsuit. I suspect I'll be getting a lot of wear out of it. If you want to get your own, visit here. It's on sale for £25 (originally £36). Ashanti Brazil also ships worldwide!

Style 101: Day to Night Dresses

With the heat cooling down a bit and the -ber months just a few weeks away, it is important to invest in transitional pieces that you can wear from day to night. I am normally drawn to sundresses but I have to consider the fact that the temperature might start to cool down a bit; hence, dresses I pick should be easy to transition or layer when the temperature continues to drop. I was browsing Shopbop's website the other day and a few pieces off of their dresses selection. Below are some of the dresses that will be easy to transition from day to night:

This gingham dress from Caroline Constas is a classic. I've wanted a shirtdress for a long time but a gingham pattern would make an even better choice. It offers an effortlessly chic and fresh look for day time, but can be easily layered with a light coat or blazer and then paired with heels for night time wear.

Shift dresses are excellent for staying fresh during the day. However, you can work them into your night time outfit by switching your flats with an ankle bootie or thin strap heels for that casual sophistication into your look! The dress is from d.Ra collection

A floral print dress, like this one from re:named, is another classic! Therefore, it easily fits the bill of a transitional outfit piece! You can wear it with strappy sandals for day or pumps and stiletto heels for a dinner date!

This easy but sophisticated Elizabeth and James dress is the perfect piece to transition from day to night. The upper half is made with a smooth bodice while the bottom half features accordion pleats. Therefore, it is both playful and sophisticated - both are qualities of a great day to night dress!

Coral is excellent for adding a bright pop of color to your day time outfit. But the tailored bodice and the flounced skirt makes this dress from WAYF super versatile.

How do you transition a dress from day to night?

ZNU Porcelain Dress

The porcelain pattern is one of the top trends to emerge this past summer. To be honest, I was not a big fan of the trend but there was a vintage appeal to the print that I found quite irresistible. And so I gave in... I got this dress from ZNU (with free shipping worldwide, don't you just love that?) for a little shy of $23!

Dress: ZNU (c/o) / Bag: Secosana / Earrings: Happiness Boutique (c/o) / Watch: JORD (c/o) / Flats: Mendrez / Sunnies: Sunnies Studios (get 15% off with code ZBAPZD4H)

I am pleased to report that the pattern and print was exactly as I imagined. I always feel slightly nervous when I order from an online store for the first time - you just don't know what to expect. And ZNU did not let me down. This dress was absolute beauty! In fact, the color was a bit more vibrant in person than the photo shown on the website. The only letdown is that it is a little too short for my liking. In fact, I can't even raise my hands without showing my bum. I'll probably wear it as a top from now on but that does not take anything away from this lovely dress.

What are your thoughts on the porcelain trend - would you try it or not?
