Last-Minute NYE Outfit Ideas

Are you clueless on what to wear for your New Year's Eve party yet? Don't fret - I've also had those moments wherein I cannot seem to figure out what to wear. But even in your paranoia, you need to calm down and consider what you have in your closet already. Sit down and examine what's in your closet. Chances are, you will find something that you loved before but you just have to look at them in a new perspective. Stop thinking about going for a specific look. Be inspired by what's in your closet and reinvent them!

Below are some pieces that I think you would easily find in your closet, plus some styling inspiration from looks I've shown you before:

Crochet/Lace

This is the easiest to style because the fabric almost always does the statement for you. With lace, you have a lot of variety. You can go for a classic look or a modern chic! It's basically up to you. Below are some of my past looks to help you out:

Statement Prints

Choosing dresses with statement prints for the NYE party is an easy way to stand out. If you're comfortable with strutting a statement piece, you must learn how to strike a balance. Try not to over-do the accessories. Choose what will look best on you and work with that!

Simple Sophistication

Simple is the best. Think of solid colored dresses/outfits that can stand out on their own.

The LBD (or LWD or LRD)

This is a no brainer! The little black dress is a classic when it comes to parties and special occasions. But sometimes, I have also find my two favorite alternatives to the LBD - the LWD or little white dress and LRD or little red dress!

Which of these styling inspirations will you try?

6 LBDs to Rock this New Year's Eve

So... you missed out on the major holiday sale and now you're stuck with choosing your New Year's Eve outfit on your closet? Don't fret. There is one type of dress that you can easily work into any occasion: the classic LBD or little black dress. This type of dress has been my go-to for parties and other special occasions. StyleWe and many other online fashion sites have plenty of options available but you can easily recycle one from your closet - I'm pretty sure every woman has at least one LBD in her closet.

Tip 1: Think accessories. Dangly earrings and other statement pieces can instantly upgrade an old dress and make it look brand new. Statement earrings would also make your close-up selfies look WAY better.

Tip 2: Add a statement pair of heels. Good shoes will be your secret weapon to looking your best for New Year's Eve. Even when you have worn your LBD a few times before, you can make it look brand new by pairing it with a statement shoe. All eyes will be on your shoes and your dress will simply tie the look together.

Tip 3: Rock the red lips! Another way to make a great statement with your LBD is to pair it with a bold lip color. If you like red, then go for this classic shade! But if you're not a fan of red lipstick, you can opt for other shades you like such as berry or coral.

With these tips, here are some StyleWe party dresses to inspire you to create that perfect look for New Year's Eve.

How to Dress Up Shorts

Top: Shein
Shorts: Choies
Clutch: CNDirect (c/o)
Watch: Rumbatime c/o Shopbop
Sandals: Black Canvas c/o Shopbop
Earrings: Adia Kibur c/o Shopbop

Before I start, allow me to greet you all a Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful celebration at home - it was the first time that we got to celebrate Christmas Eve at our new home. Hope you had a blast just like we did! I am going to share this pre-scheduled post with you while I gorge on leftover food from last night. #sorrynotsorry

I've always been of the opinion that red and leopard is a classic combo! I am therefore drawn to this pairing and it never gets old for me. The vibrant red with the statement leopard print is a nice way to elevate a simple look, such as this one that pairs a simple V-neck shirt from Shein with shorts from Choies.

Even though shorts are known as casual items, there are plenty of ways to dress it up. Dressing up shorts is definitely easier than you think, and you don't always have to pair it with heels just so you can elevate the style. If you're like me who hates wearing high heels all the time, listen up to these tips.

My first idea is to pair the look with statement earrings. In this outfit, I am wearing my blue tassel earrings from Adia Kibur. Do not be afraid to make a big statement with your earrings! Even when you are wearing a simple top (like I did here), don't hold back when it comes to your earrings because this will add that style statement you need.

Another way to dress up your shorts is to add some sparkle. In this case, I used my metallic clutch from CNDirect to add a layer of sparkle. I'm sure you can find a dressy clutch in your closet somewhere so add that into your outfit for an unexpected detail. Aside from your clutch, you can also add other sparkly accessories to complement your shorts outfit (such as a belt or blazer).

StyleWe Holiday Picks + Giveaway

via

The holiday spirit is truly in the air! Hence, I am excited to bring you a last-minute gift (more on that later!). For now, I would like to share a few of my cold weather picks from StyleWe - one of the top online fashion shopping sites for women. This website has been one of my favorites because of the vast array of designers to choose from. It started off as a small-time website that provided an avenue for fashion designers to showcase their work and their inventory continues to grow by the day.

For the holidays, I've spotted a few great options from StyleWe, particularly in the knitwear section. Knitted pieces are essential for the colder months but I love that they're comfortable enough to be worn even on our side of the planet where we don't have winter or snow. Hence, if you are going to invest in a cold weather piece, a knitwear is going to be a smart investment as it would be easy to transition to other seasons.

Knitwear can also be versatile. You can buy a knitwear dress, sweater, top or outerwear. There are so many options available in the market that you can find a piece that you like. Speaking of a piece that you like, here are some that I do have my eye on:

Grey Solid Cardigan
Mustard Knit Long Sleeve Sweater
Vintage Knitted Fringe Sweater
Beige Casual Sweater
Red Long Sleeve Lace Hem Sweater
Khaki Shift Knitted Color Block Sweater
Now onto some exciting news in time for the holidays... I've partnered with StyleWe to give one of my readers a chance to win a piece of clothing from StyleWe (of your choice) valued at $60! It's so easy to join and all of the steps are indicated below:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Hope you have a great holidays ahead!

Paisley for the Holidays

Dress: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Shoes: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Purse: AMIClubwear (c/o)
Necklace: Mod & Soul (c/o)

Paisley is not a pattern or print that you would normally associate with holiday glam looks. Hence, I wanted to come up with ways in which I can glam it up a little to make it fit for the holidays - since after all, I'm trying to showcase holiday-inspired looks for the blog this month! As it turns out, it does not take much to elevate simple dresses like this to make it fit for your holiday parties or a glam NYE party.

Dress: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Shoes: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Purse: AMIClubWear (c/o)
Necklace: Mod & Soul (c/o)

This paisley print dress is made of a soft cotton fabric. I initially bought it for casual use because it feels so comfortable on. To dress it up a little, you need a pair of statement heels. This one is from Twinkledeals and it is super affordable. The suede exterior gives it a cool-chic vibe to it. Meanwhile, a statement necklace like this favorite of mine from Mod & Soul can easily dress up any outfit.

For this holiday season, if you're not too keen on buying party dresses that you won't have much use for, I suggest you try it with some of your existing dresses in your wardrobe. An accessory or two (my favorites are statement necklaces -or earrings- and statement heels) can go a long way in terms of making a simple dress look party-ready!

Have you picked out what to wear for the holiday celebrations yet?
