6 LBDs to Rock this New Year's Eve

So... you missed out on the major holiday sale and now you're stuck with choosing your New Year's Eve outfit on your closet? Don't fret. There is one type of dress that you can easily work into any occasion: the classic LBD or little black dress. This type of dress has been my go-to for parties and other special occasions. StyleWe and many other online fashion sites have plenty of options available but you can easily recycle one from your closet - I'm pretty sure every woman has at least one LBD in her closet.

Tip 1: Think accessories. Dangly earrings and other statement pieces can instantly upgrade an old dress and make it look brand new. Statement earrings would also make your close-up selfies look WAY better.

Tip 2: Add a statement pair of heels. Good shoes will be your secret weapon to looking your best for New Year's Eve. Even when you have worn your LBD a few times before, you can make it look brand new by pairing it with a statement shoe. All eyes will be on your shoes and your dress will simply tie the look together.

Tip 3: Rock the red lips! Another way to make a great statement with your LBD is to pair it with a bold lip color. If you like red, then go for this classic shade! But if you're not a fan of red lipstick, you can opt for other shades you like such as berry or coral.

With these tips, here are some StyleWe party dresses to inspire you to create that perfect look for New Year's Eve.

Vintage Lace: Dressve

LBD or little black dress is the modern woman's best friend. At least I'd like to think so. Since my closet is teeming with dresses these days, I was not altogether surprised that I picked another LBD from Dressve. When shopping for dresses, I always look for versatility. I want something that I can wear in more than one occasion, as well as something that can be easily transitioned from day to night. These were the exact same reasons why I love this dress

It is already my second time to order from Dressve and I could not be more thrilled with the items I got. First off, they offer fast shipping! It managed to get delivered right before a different batch of items (that I ordered earlier) I ordered online did. I have to give them five stars for that.

As for the dress itself, it is made of cotton blends material. It is soft and comfortable to wear. The fit is also quite forgiving, which makes it easy to wear for a wide range of sizes. I just love the lace detail on the back - it is a nice surprise from the plain look of the front. If you would like to shop the dress, you can find it here

The addition of my nude heels and mint sling bag, it's looking like an ensemble ready to rock the holiday parties this season, don't you think?

6 Reasons to Love LBDs

LBD or little black dress. Every woman has one in her closet. I, too, consider this as my style staple. It is the safest bet when attending cocktail parties, weddings, and other such events. It is also the easiest to style. Just put in an accessory or two, wear pumps, and you're good to go. Hence, I cannot help but gush when I do window shopping (on actual shops and online stores) when I spot a mini black dress. The simplicity of the design belies the style impact one can make when wearing it.

Bottom: 1 / 2 / 3

The six dresses I've picked out from Sheinside.com are just some of my favorites. When you browse their dress section, you will be greeted with a seemingly endless array of dresses of colors, shapes, and sizes. But if you must pick just one dress to buy, I reckon you get an LBD because it is versatile, elegant, and super easy to style. As an added incentive, it is a timeless classic!

Are you a fan of LBDs? How many do you own?

The Little Black Dress

You know you're not getting any younger when most of your friends are getting married. Browsing through some old photos, I stumbled into an album taken during my friend's wedding May of last year. She is one of my closest friends and we'd been tight since high school. I was shocked when I first learned she is getting married but is happy with the beautiful family that she has now.

Today, I will be showcasing the little black dress that I wore for the said event. I kept it casual because this was a rather simple and intimate gathering of her closest friends, co-workers, and relatives. I purchased this striped, two-toned LBD from Jorgy N Missy. I paired this dress with accessories I bought from SM - both the cufflinks and the chandelier earrings. Meanwhile, I wore matching black flats that I bought from So! Fab.

This was such a fun day for me and my friends as we had a mini-reunion. We even went to a local KTV bar after the reception so we can have some videoke, too. Ahh, those times!

How'd you like the look? How do you pick what to wear when attending a wedding?

OOTD: LBD Moment

An LBD, or little black dress, is the penultimate classic piece for women’s fashion. Hence, I made sure to buy one to add to my closet. Apart from showcasing a classic style statement, an LBD is also highly versatile because there are many different ways you can style and accessorize it, whether you are attending an evening soiree or going out to dinner with friends.

I bought this LBD for our office Christmas party in 2010 from SOUL Lifestyle and I was easily drawn the second I tried it on. The fabric is cotton; thus, fits very nicely and extremely comfortable. Also, the shoulder detailing transforms it from a simple LBD to something ultra fashionable. It also comes with a studded belt (as pictured in the corporate Christmas event) that helps to provide definition to the mid-section, while also breaking the monotony of the bold black color. I would like to showcase two different ways that I styled this LBD.

First off, for our corporate Christmas party, I wore this little black dress with black shoes (for a full-on black ensemble), studded belt, and curly locks. Check it out for yourself...

Meanwhile, I wore this same LBD to work and I opted to pair it with maroon cardigan. I used my braided belt instead of the studded one that originally goes along with it to turn this LBD statement from classy to casual.

As you can see, LBDs can be really flexible and it is up to you how you style it, depending on your mood or the occasion. Which look is your favorite of the two? I’d love to hear what your thoughts are about wearing an LBD. Don’t forget to drop a comment.
