CheckPregnancy - Useful Resource for Women's Health

Since getting married in 2015, I am incessantly bugged by questions of "When are you having a child?" when I am on family gatherings or when I hang out with friends. While I am excited at the idea, I have seen enough pregnancies (from friends and family members alike) to know that it is not an easy thing to go through. Hence, I wanted to make sure that my body is ready and I am emotionally ready, too, before I start this next chapter in my life. Thankfully, there are online resources like https://www.checkpregnancy.com/ to use as guide about my own health, and that of my future baby's.

I was initially introduced to this website a few months ago but didn't take notice until now. With two of my friends expecting soon, I couldn't escape the conversation. I've also been constantly told that pregnancy is one of the most rewarding things that a woman could go through. Hence, I am finally opening myself up to the conversation and wanted to let any pregnant woman know that there are helpful resources out there if you want to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

The website is the ultimate resource for all that you need to know about your pregnancy journey. This is especially helpful for first-time moms-to-be. You might have a lot of questions in your mind as to what to expect. You might be curious about how your tummy feels as you reach one week pregnancy, what products to use for your baby, or follow the progress of your pregnancy as you see your tummy grows. I know I would have plenty of questions when I reach this stage! You can also find resources on getting pregnant, if you are like us who are contemplating pregnancy. And for parents, there is a parenting section that you can use to help raise your kids the right way - while each parenting method is unique, it is important to get as much help as you can get!

This month, we'll be going in for our first checkup as we are planning to conceive next year. Hopefully, things turn out well and we can have a healthy baby in the future. In the meantime, you can check out CheckPregnancy if you want to have a healthy and happy baby, too.

Friday Favorites: Dresses Edition

I know, I know... I've been slacking off again. I hate reading about those lame excuses on blog posts for being absent, so I will skip that part. In my last post, I've talked about transitional style and how I turn to knits as my go-to option for this time of the year. But I also think that I am not ready to let go of wearing dresses just yet. I will always be a "dress kind of girl" and the seasons won't change that.

In particular, I am going to share with you 7 of my favorite dresses right now that I think can be worn any time of the year. These would be a good addition to your closet if you're not keen on buying all the time.

Vintage Style Party Dress

When I saw this dress, I literally gasped. I do have a penchant for vintage fashion, especially vintage inspired dresses. This dress in particular ticks all the right boxes for me. While it does have a vintage feel, it is also very distinctively modern. I could see myself wearing this for a wedding as a guest, or some other cocktail parties. Not only will get you get a transitional dress but also have one that you can wear for special occasions. That is a win in my book!

Crochet Dress

Another obsession of mine aside from vintage dresses? A crochet dress! I have a few of them but I can't help myself (just added this to my cart!) with this one. I love that collar detail, which gives it an elegant, almost snobbish feel to it.

Tatiana Party Dress

This mint color is what wooed me over. Plus, I've always been a fan of the bateau neckline and wonder why there aren't as many dresses or tops that use this particular neckline. The length of this dress also makes it highly versatile. While it is made as a party dress, it can be easily dressed down too, thus giving you more wear throughout the year.

Sleeveless Cutout Dress

Shop here
This is another dress that I couldn't get my eyes off when I saw it! That color is just breathtakingly beautiful. The cutouts are also well-placed to give the dress a subtle sexy touch! It is also easy to transition for the colder months by layering it with a coat!

Tie Waist Shirt Dress

I'll admit the color is what drew me first to this dress. But I also think that every woman should have at least one shirt dress in her closet. A button front shirt dress is easy to wear and transition!

Vintage Dress

Can we talk about this dress? I love the color, the mesh details, and the appliques... it is a true delicate piece! The tiered detail on the skirt of the dress also adds to its femininity! If you want to look soft and radiant throughout the year, this dress is a must-have!

Floral Lace Flute Sleeve Dress

I am an LBD girl through and through... It is my most classic option for ANY look, which speaks a lot to its versatility. The sleeve and lace detail on this are just a bonus!

Are you a dress kind of girl too? Do you like to wear them all season?

Leopard Obsession

When it comes to exotic prints, leopard is undoubtedly the most popular choice for women. In fact, it is seen styled in a variety of ways - as a focal or accent piece. Its versatility has proven itself over the years, which also speaks for how it has endured the fashion world despite other trendy patterns making its way into the market. I, for one, can attest to this as I was once scared of trying leopard print. But when I first did, I fell in love with it seeing how easy it is to wear and style into an outfit without being too brazen or looking trashy whatsoever.

Leopard Print Flats (only $45)

I got this leopard print shoes from FSJShoes this month and I was psyched when I got it in the mail. For only $45, this pair is a lovely addition to my shoe collection. I already have a few styling ideas for this one, so do wait up for my styled post about that coming soon to the blog!

Meanwhile, check out some of my favorites from FSJ Shoes (you'll love this shoe company!!). You can check out a variety of options whether you want leopard print pumps or leopard print flats

Leopard Ankle Buckle Flat Sandals / Bow Lace Up Leopard Flats
Suede Stiletto Heel Leopard Pumps / Hollow Out Stiletto Heel Leopard Sandals

Do you like wearing leopard prints, too?

6 LBDs to Rock this New Year's Eve

So... you missed out on the major holiday sale and now you're stuck with choosing your New Year's Eve outfit on your closet? Don't fret. There is one type of dress that you can easily work into any occasion: the classic LBD or little black dress. This type of dress has been my go-to for parties and other special occasions. StyleWe and many other online fashion sites have plenty of options available but you can easily recycle one from your closet - I'm pretty sure every woman has at least one LBD in her closet.

Tip 1: Think accessories. Dangly earrings and other statement pieces can instantly upgrade an old dress and make it look brand new. Statement earrings would also make your close-up selfies look WAY better.

Tip 2: Add a statement pair of heels. Good shoes will be your secret weapon to looking your best for New Year's Eve. Even when you have worn your LBD a few times before, you can make it look brand new by pairing it with a statement shoe. All eyes will be on your shoes and your dress will simply tie the look together.

Tip 3: Rock the red lips! Another way to make a great statement with your LBD is to pair it with a bold lip color. If you like red, then go for this classic shade! But if you're not a fan of red lipstick, you can opt for other shades you like such as berry or coral.

With these tips, here are some StyleWe party dresses to inspire you to create that perfect look for New Year's Eve.

StyleWe Holiday Picks + Giveaway

via

The holiday spirit is truly in the air! Hence, I am excited to bring you a last-minute gift (more on that later!). For now, I would like to share a few of my cold weather picks from StyleWe - one of the top online fashion shopping sites for women. This website has been one of my favorites because of the vast array of designers to choose from. It started off as a small-time website that provided an avenue for fashion designers to showcase their work and their inventory continues to grow by the day.

For the holidays, I've spotted a few great options from StyleWe, particularly in the knitwear section. Knitted pieces are essential for the colder months but I love that they're comfortable enough to be worn even on our side of the planet where we don't have winter or snow. Hence, if you are going to invest in a cold weather piece, a knitwear is going to be a smart investment as it would be easy to transition to other seasons.

Knitwear can also be versatile. You can buy a knitwear dress, sweater, top or outerwear. There are so many options available in the market that you can find a piece that you like. Speaking of a piece that you like, here are some that I do have my eye on:

Grey Solid Cardigan
Mustard Knit Long Sleeve Sweater
Vintage Knitted Fringe Sweater
Beige Casual Sweater
Red Long Sleeve Lace Hem Sweater
Khaki Shift Knitted Color Block Sweater
Now onto some exciting news in time for the holidays... I've partnered with StyleWe to give one of my readers a chance to win a piece of clothing from StyleWe (of your choice) valued at $60! It's so easy to join and all of the steps are indicated below:

How to Wear Spring/Summer Colors for Fall

Plus Size Prom Dresses

If you love pastel and bright colors as much as I do, you might be interested to know that despite what the rules say, you can wear them for fall fashion too. The fall fashion previews might suggest you switch to darker, earthier tones but that does not mean that you should abide by the rules all the time. In fact, there is an incentive to wear eye-catching hues for fall as it can make your fall outfits seem more upbeat. Today, I have partnered with StyleWe to showcase some pieces from Lilith Paris, one of the website's independent fashion designers, and some tips on how you can wear spring or summer colors well into fall.

Incorporate neutral accessories. Do you have a lot of pastel dresses in your closet? Do not put them away yet. You can still wear those light colored dresses for fall by incorporating neutral accessories to tone down the brightness a bit but still make it the focal point of your outfit.

Shoes make the outfit. If full-on pastel feels too summer-y for you, incorporate fall colors into your outfit through your choice of footwear. This will also add some polish to the outfit.

Wear pastel outerwear. One of the easiest ways to get away with wearing pastel or summer/spring colors in the fall is with your outerwear. It will make your look suited for the cooler weather but with a pop of brightness from the pastel.

Limit to accessories. If you find that wearing pastel outerwear is still too vibrant for fall, then limit the pastel to your accessories only. It could be your bag, your earrings/necklace, or your scarf.

If you need more style tip, visit StyleWe's blog or check out these fun pieces so you can get more styling inspiration for fall: https://www.stylewe.com/deals/black-friday-and-cyber-monday/dresses.html

Do you love to wear your pastels into fall, too? What style tips can you add to these?

StyleWe: A Hub for Independent Fashion Designers

Fashion is constantly evolving. Trends come and go, designers so do too. But that is what makes the industry dynamic. You'll never know where the next trend will come from and who will innovate it. Hence, I am thrilled that StyleWe reached out to me and was given the opportunity to share about this fantastic website on my blog. Just as small time bloggers like myself want to get a share of the lpie from major fashion bloggers and influencers, so do independent fashion designers who are seeking out a big break in the fashion industry.

It is delightful to have found a website that provides a platform for these designers to have their creations showcased for the world to see. It is a great way to reward their creativity and encourage new creations from them. If you browse the website's designers section, you will find eclectic designs from PUNK RAVE or feminine pieces from Blushfashion.

You can also find various fashion designs across different seasons. For instance, this impressive collection of shearling coats would be ideal for the winter. The collection of coats feature creations from various independent fashion designers for quality designs at a fraction of pieces from high-end designer brands. And it's not just clothes that are available here - you can also find designers who create unique bags that are available only through the website. One example is designer Lulu Lam. The designer's unique design philosophy is all about using modern aesthetics suitable for the confident and modern woman.

Below are some of the notable independent fashion designers and their creations:
