Dresses to Bring On Your Next Vacation

V-Neck Tribal Print Bell Sleeve Dress / V-Neck Printed Maxi Dress / Off Shoulder Bodice Maxi Dress / Floral Printed Maxi Dress / Fringe Side Slit Maxi Dress
A week ago, I just booked the hubby and I a trip to a tropical vacation destination. I won't spill details yet but as with everything I do, I am already planning ahead (even though it's still a few months away). Despite the fact that I've traveled for quite a few times already, I've earned the rep as a serial over-packer. The husband and I both agree to always bring carry-on luggage (because we both hate the queue on the baggage claim). While I am certainly no light packer yet, I think I've gotten better at it. For a tropical destination, packing cute dresses is a no-brainer. One advantage to this is you can save space since you are bringing just one piece instead of a top and bottom. Plus, summer dresses tend to be of lighter fabric such as cotton or chiffon. You can save a lot of space if you roll them in your luggage because they are not bulky. The dresses that I've linked above are just a few of those that I have my eye on from Fashionmia - one of the websites that I shop for for trendy but affordable pieces. They are one of my go-to's online because I have had a few excellent products based on my own shopping experience.

Here are just a few of the Fashionmia pieces that I've styled in the past. Which of these do you think should I bring with me on my next trip?

I've purchased quite a few items (mostly dresses) from Fashionmia and I have been quite satisfied with what I got. As with most of these overseas shops, it is always critical to check the sizing details and read the reviews from customers so you can assess the quality of the items! You can find a wide range of options from all kinds of dresses, outerwear, and plus size clothing from the website.

Have you got tips to pack light for a tropical vacation? I could use some of them so leave them in the comments below!

The Coziest Cardigan Coat

OUTFIT DETAILS
Top / Pants / Cardigan Coat / Shoes / Watch / Bag

I have zero tolerance for the cold weather. Since I live in the tropics, I have never been used to the cold and would probably won't survive a day somewhere with snow (although I still would want to see snow someday). For those extra cold days though, I am glad I can stay warm with my favorite outerwear: cardigan. I love that there are so many options to choose from whether you are looking for light or thick layers.

I've previously talked about my new favorite coat from Fashionmia here. This is another cold weather essential that I love and grab on for those days when I need extra warmth. This material is unbelievably cozy and for someone who gets cold easily, it's a lifesaver!

The color is another reason why I regard this cardigan as my trusty outerwear. The beige hue is a neutral and I love incorporating neutrals into my wardrobe because I find them easier to work with in terms of trying out different outfit combinations. If you happen to get a peek into my closet, you'll find a kaleidoscope of colors and prints. A neutral outerwear is therefore a great way to tone those colors and prints down.

Do you have a go-to outerwear?

Personalized Jewelry

Personalized Necklace (c/o)
If you are a frequent reader of this blog, then you have probably witnessed my love affair with accessories and jewelries. I can't help it: love how they add to an outfit. Plus, it is always the most fun part about dressing up: pairing your accessories! But what I love more than jewelry? Personalized jewelry!

Wedges: Sammydress (c/o)
Watch: RumbaTime

Thus, I readily jumped at the chance when I was introduced to GetPersonalizedJewelry. I picked out this gold plated neklace and had it personalized with my name. I always have one or two favorite necklaces but having my name on this makes it extra special. I love the classic style, too, which can be easily worked into my outfit.

If there is one thing that I love as equally as personalized jewelry, it's vintage fashion. In particular, this dress caught my attention as it exhibits a vintage flair with a modern twist. I have always been a fan of polka, too, so I knew I had to have it.

If you prefer monogram necklaces, they also offer those! Have you owned a personalized piece of jewelry?

Cure for Rainy Days

Coat via Fashionmia

The weather hasn't been the best recently. Since the new year, it has been raining non-stop. I have spent my days at home and I can't even be bothered to go out. But then I quickly reminded myself of my goals for 2017. I can't start the year slacking off. There I was braving the rain in an effort to shoot some photos for this blog.

Dress: Sammydress
Coat: Fashionmia (c/o)
Shoes: Steve Madden (sold out, similar)
Earrings: Mod & Soul (c/o)

I was also slightly thankful for this cold weather since I got the opportunity to wear this coat from Fashionmia. Living in the tropics, the rain provided the only escape from the heat and humidity. This put a stall on my fashion dreams of donning a coat. I took this rainy season as the perfect opportunity to wear my coat. For a coat with such superb quality, it can't be left to gather dust in my closet. It comes with a thick material to provide the right amount of insulation without being too heavy. The faux suede finish and navy color combine to give it a sophisticated look.

It might seem shallow that I am only happy with the rain since I got to wear my coat. However, there is a deep message embedded here, which is also something I can take with me for 2017. You cannot control some factors in your life (such as the rain which has made a lazy girl out of me). But instead of trying to change what you can't, look at how you can make the situation better. If it requires me being more stylish, then I'd be the first to grab at the chance!

Best Fall Tops from Fashionmia

Plus Size Prom Dresses
If you're a regular reader, you know that Fashionmia is one of my go-to websites for shopping. I have ordered mostly dresses from the website but I cannot deny that I've got my eye on their selection of tops online. This season is all about the romantic details such as ruffles, lace and more. The detail become more important as the season gets colder and you need to cover up. Even though you are covered up, you do not have to be sloppy with style.

To help you shop for that perfect top for fall, here is a breakdown on my top picks for fashion tops for fall. To see the entire selection, visit http://www.fashionmia.com/tops-60/

Peasant Top

A peasant top is great all year round. For fall, this is one of the best tops for women because it offers an easy yet feminine silhouette. Peasant tops also go well with a variety of bottoms - suede skirts, skinny jeans, and other slim-cut bottoms.

Button-Up

Button up blouses are a classic! To give this a twist fit for fall, you can choose ones with a plaid pattern.

Raglan Tee

This is a simple top to style this fall. Since the top is long sleeved, you can wear it as is to stay warm. But you can easily layer with a blazer or coat when the weather is more chilly than usual.
