Dark Floral for Fall + Linkup

Cheap Prom Dresses

I am the biggest floral fan you will ever meet; I guess it is a testament to my love for feminine styles. But florals don't always have to be worn in the summer time. If you're not a fan of the bright and girly style that is associated with the pattern, you can choose dark and moody florals instead. The use of a dark color palette to serve as background for the floral print adds a sense of edge and even a Victorian goth feel to it. Hence, do not be afraid to incorporate florals to your outfit this season.

Below are a few pieces that you can start with. You can add them to your outfit as a focal or accent piece:

Yumi Kim Modern Muse Dress
Boho Navy Floral Print Dress
JOA Black Floral Print Dress
Talulah Floral Print Top
Clayton Floral Crepe Bodysuit
Karen Kane Sheer Floral Overlay Top
Marc Jacobs Mixed Daisy Flower Tote
Kate Spade Floral Print Wallet
Adidas by Stella McCartney Floral Backpack
Vintage Floral Wide Leg Pants
Floral Long Kimono
Casual Floral Flatform Sneakers

As you can see, pairing the bright floral blooms against the dark background adds a sense of whimsy to any outfit. It's no wonder that dark florals are seen everywhere these days. You can find them not just in dresses but also in skirts, blazers, kimonos, bags and even shoes! And yet, the floral print does not lose every bit of its lady-like characteristics, which I love!

Which of these piece/s do you like most?

How to Wear Spring/Summer Colors for Fall

Plus Size Prom Dresses

If you love pastel and bright colors as much as I do, you might be interested to know that despite what the rules say, you can wear them for fall fashion too. The fall fashion previews might suggest you switch to darker, earthier tones but that does not mean that you should abide by the rules all the time. In fact, there is an incentive to wear eye-catching hues for fall as it can make your fall outfits seem more upbeat. Today, I have partnered with StyleWe to showcase some pieces from Lilith Paris, one of the website's independent fashion designers, and some tips on how you can wear spring or summer colors well into fall.

Incorporate neutral accessories. Do you have a lot of pastel dresses in your closet? Do not put them away yet. You can still wear those light colored dresses for fall by incorporating neutral accessories to tone down the brightness a bit but still make it the focal point of your outfit.

Shoes make the outfit. If full-on pastel feels too summer-y for you, incorporate fall colors into your outfit through your choice of footwear. This will also add some polish to the outfit.

Wear pastel outerwear. One of the easiest ways to get away with wearing pastel or summer/spring colors in the fall is with your outerwear. It will make your look suited for the cooler weather but with a pop of brightness from the pastel.

Limit to accessories. If you find that wearing pastel outerwear is still too vibrant for fall, then limit the pastel to your accessories only. It could be your bag, your earrings/necklace, or your scarf.

Wine Up!

Dress: Brenda-Shop (c/o)
Watch: RumbaTime c/o Shopbop
Earrings: Twinkledeals (c/o)
Shoes: CLN PH
When this time of the year rolls around, there is one color that I find craving: wine red. This subtly sexy color is surprisingly versatile. So today, I am going to take my spin on it with this lovely vintage lace dress from Brenda-Shop. I am sharing a style inspiration for the holidays, which I know is still a long way to go but I am already too excited for that (yep, we're counting down the days 'til Christmas around here!). I can see myself wearing this outfit inspiration for the holiday parties. The dress is already giving the style statement I need for this look so the simple addition of the water drop earrings from Twinkledeals is all I need - plus, a classic nude ankle strap heel and quilted purse!

Red has always been one of my favorite colors to wear- the bolder the red is, the better. But I haven't had much chance to add wine red pieces to my closet. Thus, getting this dress from Brenda-Shop was the perfect excuse to do so! In addition, it is made up of lace, comes with a lace-up front detail and a subtle bell sleeve. What else can I ask for?

Fall Must-Have: Army Jacket + Style Tips

Cheap Prom Dresses

When it comes to closet staples, one of those items is a military/army jacket. Upon initial look, the jacket style exudes a masculine vibe. But it is also a great piece to mix with feminine pieces in your closet, staying true to its promise as a staple piece. In fact, while I do not have my own army jacket, I like to steal my husband's and style it! With cooler months in the horizon, it is time to take them out of your closet and get ready to style them.

Check out some of the top army jackets I've found online and read on below to get some styling tips you can use for this season:

THE GREAT Swing Army Jacket
Zadig & Voltaire Grunge Army Jacket
Bailey 44 Jam Jacket
AMO Army Jacket
BB Dakota Vegan Leather Jacket
Current/Elliot Shipyard Jacket
Faux Leather Trim Utility Jacket
Andrew Marc Crinkle Leather Jacket
'Explorer' Removable Vest and Utility Jacket

Now that you have had your options, let's move on to the styling tips.

Army Jacket + White Tee + Denim Jeans

lookastic.com

One of the most classic ways to wear an army jacket is to pair it with a simple white tee and denim jeans. You can get more flexibility by choosing to wear it with sneakers or pumps (or any type of heels). You can therefore switch up your footwear depending on what time of day it is and where you are headed.

Army Jacket + Feminine Piece

My favorite way to style army jacket is to wear it with feminine pieces such as a floral dress, or incorporating a bright floral scarf for a feminine touch. The contrast between the edgy jacket and the feminine detail makes the outfit elevated.

Aside from the classic denim jeans, pairing an army jacket with white jeans is also a gorgeous way to showcase this fall staple. The white jeans provide you with more flexibility when it comes to how to style your top or your choice of footwear.

Fall Dress Shopping with FashionMia

Plus Size Prom Dresses

Fashionmia is one of those websites that have really impressed me. When it comes to shopping online, I always look for quality but I cannot deny that reasonable pricing can woo me over. This is specially great for when I am buying for specific seasons or trends because that means I can buy without guilt or worry. If you have seen my reviews of Fashionmia dresses here and here, you know that I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for cheap dresses or some other fashion items. Since I've ordered mostly dresses from the website, I can shop with confidence knowing that you get a great deal for its price.

With the transition to cooler weather, I've been thinking about cozy dresses that will keep me warm during the season. Apparently, fall isn't just about the tweeds, suedes and blazers - a great dress can be a good investment for the season too.  Here are some of the must-see picks from the FashionMia website

What is your ideal fall dress?

Bright Florals

Dress: Minkpink c/o Shopbop
Tote: Kate Spade c/o Shopbop (blush is sold out but available in other colors)
Sandals: Sammydress (c/o)
Earrings: Mod & Soul (c/o)

I've previously talked about Minkpink as one of my favorite fashion brands. This dress is one example why. It combines my all-time favorite (floral) with my current favorite (midi). When I first saw it on Shopbop, I was slightly intimidated by it. Orange is definitely not my color. But there was something about this color that also drew me to the dress. It is called a Tropical Dream dress and with full certainty I agree.

The slit on the sides of the dress is just a bonus! A few weeks ago, I also featured a slit dress from Zaful. I love how the slit detail adds a subtle sexiness to a simple dress, even casual dresses. The dress also stays true to what Minkpink fashion is about - bold, bright statement through color or print!
