Leopard Kimono

Adding a dose of leopard to an outfit always makes it more interesting (for lack of a better word). It is a tricky pattern to wear. However, I prefer wearing it as an accent to the outfit because it can be a little too overwhelming when not executed carefully. I was a bit hesitant to get this leopard kimono but decided to go for it. It's from Choies

Dress: Soul Lifestyle
Kimono: Choies (only $9!!)
Watch: La Mer

In this particular look, the leopard kimono infused a touch of feistiness to the LBD. However it is also a versatile piece. I am thinking about using it as a coverup on the beach too! My La Mer watch provided a nice contrast in color.

How to Dress Up Shorts

Shorts: Choies

Watch: Rumbatime c/o Shopbop
Sandals: Black Canvas c/o Shopbop
Earrings: Adia Kibur c/o Shopbop

Before I start, allow me to greet you all a Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful celebration at home - it was the first time that we got to celebrate Christmas Eve at our new home. Hope you had a blast just like we did! I am going to share this pre-scheduled post with you while I gorge on leftover food from last night. #sorrynotsorry

I've always been of the opinion that red and leopard is a classic combo! I am therefore drawn to this pairing and it never gets old for me. The vibrant red with the statement leopard print is a nice way to elevate a simple look, such as this one that pairs a simple V-neck shirt from Shein with shorts from Choies.

Even though shorts are known as casual items, there are plenty of ways to dress it up. Dressing up shorts is definitely easier than you think, and you don't always have to pair it with heels just so you can elevate the style. If you're like me who hates wearing high heels all the time, listen up to these tips.

My first idea is to pair the look with statement earrings. In this outfit, I am wearing my blue tassel earrings from Adia Kibur. Do not be afraid to make a big statement with your earrings! Even when you are wearing a simple top (like I did here), don't hold back when it comes to your earrings because this will add that style statement you need.

Another way to dress up your shorts is to add some sparkle. In this case, I used my metallic clutch from CNDirect to add a layer of sparkle. I'm sure you can find a dressy clutch in your closet somewhere so add that into your outfit for an unexpected detail. Aside from your clutch, you can also add other sparkly accessories to complement your shorts outfit (such as a belt or blazer).

Lace-Up: Yay or Nay?

Cheap Prom Dresses

When browsing online shops, I can't help but notice this particular trend that is seen everywhere and even in the blogosphere: lace-up tops and dresses. Let me break it down for you: tops or dresses with plunging neckline styles and closed with a lace-up fabric. It is a simple detail but packs a major punch. This trend isn't seen only in cheap clothing stores - they've dominated the runways last year. I am a little bit on the fence with this one. I tend to shy away from anything with plunging necklines. But I cannot help but adore these items featuring the latest hot trend in fashion:

What do you think of this trend: is it a yay or nay?

Trend Watch: Off The Shoulder

This year, off shoulder dresses and tops are on top of my wishlist for summer. Let's admit it, there is nothing that would best represent summer and spring style most. I imagine wearing one to the beach or somewhere tropical. If you'd like to add some off the shoulder pieces to your summer wardrobe, I got you covered. I have searched all over the web to find great pieces at reasonable prices:

Off The Grid

The grid pattern is one trend that I've been aching to try for a while. It has the classic appeal of stripes and plaids but with an edgy twist. And I bet you wouldn't believe me when I say I got this grid pattern top for less than $10 at Jexshop! If that does not convince you enough to go have a look at the website, they also offer free international shipping. The only downside is that you have to wait a while before you can get your item. Mine took almost two months for just a couple of items (heads up!). But seeing this item, I can conclude it was worth the wait... for someone like me whose a little impatient, the wait was a little too much.

Top: Jexshop (c/o) / Skirt: Choies / Heels: similar / Necklace: Born Pretty Store / Watch: JORD (c/o)

Since I got this top, I've worn it several times but more on the casual side. It looked good with skinny jeans but tried to experiment with a more feminine look by pairing it with my peach midi skirt from Choies. I love the versatility of the top and the quality, which totally belies the fact that it is ridiculously affordable.

What's your thought on the grid pattern?

Pom Pom Obsession: Choies Wishlist

This past summer there has been an overload of fun and playful trends that came out but none I loved or were more fascinated with than pom poms. I've seen them used in tops, shorts, dresses, kimonos... literally everything! Tassels or pom poms provide a casual and playful touch to an outfit. At the same time, there is something boho about this particular style detail that I totally dig, even though I am not too big on boho styles.

Today, I've collaborated with Choies.com to bring you a few of my favorite pieces from their website featuring the lovely pom pom trend. I am so obsessed with the pineapple print shorts and the tropical kimono with pom poms, but let me know your picks as well.

Sunflower Print Romper / Floral Print Romper

Pineapple Print Shorts / Multi-color Dots Print Shorts

Tropical Print Kimono / Blue Oversized Poncho Kimono

White Off-Shoulder Romper / Pink Spaghetti Pom Pom Hem Vest

Are you digging the trend as much as I do? If you have featured a similar trend, leave your links on the comment and I'd love to check it out!
