8 Must-Have Kimonos

It took me a while to embrace the kimono trend. I am more of a cardigan girl. But when the temperature goes up during summer time, it is only practical to switch to lighter fabrics. And that is why opting for a kimono makes sense for those who want to layer their outfit. Adding to the versatility of the kimono is the fact that there are several prints to choose from. I have to admit that floral still is my favorite print, though. I also like to convert kimono as a cover-up for the beach, which further adds to the reasons why it is a smart investment piece for summer.

Are you ready to start shopping for some summer kimonos? I've gathered some of my favorites online:

Are you also into the kimono trend?

  3. I've loved the kimono trend since a year ago <3 I'll always be a blazer girl at heart but it's way too hot here in the Philippines for that. Love the kimono with the FRINGE :)

  5. I tend to take a long time to come around to a trend. When these became all the rage last year, I wasn't sure I needed one. Now, I'd love to have one but since the material is so thin and they don't provide warmth (and what could you even wear over one if it got cold), I don't want to spend more than $15 or $20 on one. Now if I could thrift one, that would be ideal. I like the kimonos you picked out, especially the first black floral one!

    1. I have a shorter kimono that looks great layered under a very lightweight, soft black anorak - it's a nice mix of structured and floaty. Katie @ Alaskan Weredork blog also does a great job of making a kimono top an all-seasons piece!

  16. I love kimonos! I made myself a black floral one last summer and it's one of my favorite items. The first two are so pretty - I particularly like the neon trim on the first one.
