Holiday Makeup Guide

Most women tend to worry about what outfit and shoes to wear for a slew of holiday parties. Sure, you can do an extensive search for the best dress and shoes to wear to the party but you can ruin all of your hard work by not wearing the right makeup. One of the most important tricks to deciding what kind of makeup to wear is to think first of your personality and then the type of event you are headed to. You want to use the makeup to complement your natural beauty, instead of trying to fit your personality into it. After that, you can have so much more fun with your look!

Your eye makeup, to be specific, is something that you should focus on. The eyes draw a lot of attention in itself and if you can pull off your eye makeup, then half the battle is done. The safest bet for the holidays would be to add some shimmer into your eyes by using silver eye shadow palette. Make sure to add some into the inner corners of the eyes because that will help to bring out more drama and fierceness to the look.

Or, better yet, you can go for a clean and classic look with a bare makeup. It helps to bring forth a sexy yet classy vibe to your holiday party look.

For women who prefer the traditional look, darker eyes and thick, curly lashes make a great choice. This kind of eye makeup also goes with when you are wearing a sophisticated and classic cut dress.

Here are some other eye makeup ideas to consider:

Go Bare!

Oftentimes, the simplest looks can draw more attention. A lot of men prefer women to keep their colors simple and classic, which is what you can get with a bare makeup. It is also a smart buy if you go bare because you can use these palettes for your everyday neutral looks. For this kind of eye makeup, you will get eye shadows from the following hues: bronze, brown, black, or taupe. Learn more about this look here:

Dare to Stand Out!

Looking for warm yet vibrant eye shadow palettes? Go for eye shadow tones ranging from yellow gold, to rich reds, and light corals. This is a perfect choice for playful women who like to stand out in the crowd. You can go as colorful or as bold as you please! Get more ideas for this look here.

Show Off Your Flare!

You'd have to be bold enough to wear these bright and sophisticated hues for a holiday party, but it will pay off as the iridescent combination of eight over-the-top shades will tell everyone in the party that you have quite the attitude. This is a perfect complement to a fun and edgy look because not every girl can rock these hues. Are you ready to show them your flare? Get more tips to pull off this look here.

Feeling Blue

I've noticed that when I do browse the rack at a boutique, my eyes are quickly drawn to blue. My favorites range from baby blue to teal to azure and dark blue.. There is a royal touch to it, but at the same time it commands attention with such a pop of color to your outfit. Wearing blue is, as much as it is fashion-forward and eye-catching, a bit of a challenge. You have to strike a balance so that you don't pair it with a busy pattern or an equally bold color that they would clash, but just enough to highlight the shade

Hence, I always take on this challenge quite seriously whenever I dress up with any one of my blue tops. In this outfit post, I would like to showcase how I tried to mellow down this blue top that I got from For Me for a casual look. I went with light pants to give the blue shade up-top more pop to it. I love how comfortable the fabric feels against the skin and the way it fits. Can you tell it's one of my faves?

And because I was feeling color-savvy that day, I coordinated the color of my top with my ballet flats from So! Fab. And mind you, it's studded!

Here are my favorite celebrities wearing my favorite color in varying shades:

I'm obsessing over Blake's and Lauren's dresses. And the shade of blue on Miranda's skirt = love! What's your favorite color to wear?

Lace on Lace

Have I told you about my obsession for lace? Yes, I love this fabric because there is a sensual yet feminine appeal to it that I believe reflects my personal style. I am not the most fashion-forward person out there, nor am I too experimental with my fashion sensibilities because I still stand firm with the idea that your choice of clothing should reflect who you are or at least provide a glimpse of it.

Needless to say, I am the most girly girl I know. In my mind, I like to be the outdoorsy, outgoing individual but to be honest, I prefer pink, lace, and heels just like the next girl.

One weekend, when going out with the boyf to celebrate our sixth anniversary, I tried on this lace on lace ensemble. I paired my white, long sleeve lace top with my pink shorts that comes with a lace lining, of which you have already seen me wear here. Such a fun outfit, right? It's straddling somewhere between casual and sexy perfect for an anniversary getaway! And to further amp up the feminine quality to my ensemble, I also wore the pink rosette earrings I bought from Love Diva (pictured below).

Emma Stone is probably one of my favorite persons in the world. She is quirky, fun, bubbly, and stylish. Who would've thought that this 20-something actress would become such a global phenomenon, much more a fashion icon?
