Zaful Cocktail Dress

OUTFIT DETAILS
Dress (c/o) / Necklace (c/o) / Bag (c/o) / Heels / Watch (c/o)

When it comes to shopping for cocktail dresses, I prefer short dresses and those with a fit-and-flare style. They are the ones that can be easily transitioned into more casual outfits so that you can get more wear out of your cocktail dress. For special occasion wear, it is always an issue of practicality. Like most women, I would not want to invest a lot of money on a dress that I probably won't wear again (or at least not too often).

This is why I instantly knew that this dress was a must-have when I saw it on Zaful. The color, obviously, is a favorite of mine so it did not take more convincing on my end to get this dress. For this look, I decided to dress it up with a pair of nude ankle strap heels and statement necklace. But I also plan on wearing it with a pair of strappy flat sandals or even sneakers!

Again, Zaful exceeded my expectations and as I have a few more orders from them on the way, I can't help to get excited about them! You can take advantage of the Zaful Spring 2017 Promotion to get even better deals on already affordable pieces. You can use the discount code "ZafulChen" to get a discount when you shop!

Have you tried shopping from Zaful? Below are some other looks I've featured wearing Zaful pieces:

Tie Dye Dress
Cold Shoulder Ruffle Dress (sold out, similar and similar)
Slit Maxi Skirt (similar)

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

OUTFIT DETAILS

"Great things never came from comfort zones."

I love the quote above because that speaks a lot about my life choices and how it empowers one to take a courageous act. I therefore apply that same mentality in my pursuits in life, and that includes my fashion choices. Whenever I am introduced to a new company or website, I always keep an open mind. While I do have my fair share of favorites, I am not scared to try a few new ones from time to time. Unlike cosmetics wherein I tend to stick to the ones that I have tested and proven effective, fashion can be a little more forgiving. I'm glad I took a chance with Yoins. This cobalt pencil skirt that I got from the website has been one of my favorite skirts of all-time. And it's not just because it's in cobalt, my favorite color!

This skirt offers many opportunities for styling since I've already talked about how versatile pencil skirts are (and why I love them) here. This one is no different. This styling idea is great for a more dressed up yet casual look for the summer. Since this skirt is of my favorite color, I am excited to check out other styling ideas with it. What other styling ideas would you recommend I try with it?

Crushing on Pastels

OUTFIT DETAILS
Top (c/o) / Watch (c/o) / Pants / Earrings (c/o) / Handbag (c/o) / Shoes
Pastels are a welcome change to signal the start of a new (hopefully) warmer season. There is something about sherbet-colored hues that inspires creative and energetic mood. Pastel is a happy hue for me. When I want to feel good and warm, I reach out to any pastel shade in my wardrobe and it does the trick every single time. Whether or not you feel the same way, you cannot deny that soft hues are a classic spring/summer staple. It might look trendy but it has a timeless appeal that will enable you to wear your pastel pieces year after year.

So... how do you wear pastel? My favorite way is with mixed pastels, just like I had done here. I take more than one pastel piece and wear them together. In this case, the blush top, mint watch and the powder blue tote complement each other for a soft yet bold look.

If you want something more bold than my take on pastels, you can go monochrome with your outfit. You can wear the same color palette together. My favorite idea is to wear a risque crop top with a wide leg pant or high waisted pencil skirt.

If you want to stay on the classic route, though, you can also get some hint with my look today: wear it with neutrals. In this case, I opted for a black ripped denim jeans to go with my blush top and a neutral toned pumps. This will highlight the pastel hues and make them more noticeable.

Lastly, you can pair pastels with brights (just like I've done here too with a pair of bright earrings). This will provide a contrast by adding edge to the soft pastels.

What is your favorite way to wear pastel?
