Re-purposed Maxi

How much do I love maxi skirts (and dresses)? Let me count thee ways... 1 - they're comfortable, 2 - they're stylish, 3 - they are easy to re-wear! Today's look is a repurposed version of the same maxi skirt you've seen me style here. Coral is easily one of my favorite colors to wear. It adds a pop of color to an outfit without being too loud.

Top: Shein (less than $10!)
Skirt: old
Sandals: AMI Clubwear (c/o)

This Best Dressed tee is from Shein, by the way. I've scored a ton of great deals from this website and this shirt is just one of them. I bought it for less than $10! To add some edgy twist to the look, my gladiator sandals from AMI Clubwear is my choice of footwear. These three pieces are such good investments - they can easily be mixed and matched with other pieces. The good thing about each item is that they can act as a focal or accent piece in an outfit.

What is one item in your closet that gets the most wear?

Working with Chicwish was a long-time dream of mine. The website is one of my favorite online shops on the web. If you happen to visit their website, you'll see for yourself why. It is a hub of all things pretty - tops, dresses, and skirts. This particular skirt that I am wearing today is from Chicwish. It was love at first sight with this skirt!

I've always been a fan of mixing bold colors together. Color blocking might be a trend of 2015 but it has never really faded from the fashion scene. When tastefully done, it can even look elegant. That is the idea that I was going for when I decided to pair my red top with this dark green maxi skirt. It is no secret that I love adding a pop of color to my outfits but pairing two bold colors in one outfit takes it to a whole new level.

Like I said, Chicwish has a seemingly endless array of pretty skirts. Below are just a few of my other favorites:

Emerald Maxi Skirt / Stripe in Blue Cotton Midi Skirt / Lollipop Color Block Midi Skirt / Midi Skirt in Rosy Brown / Pleated Midi Skirt in Sapphire Blue

Blushing Lace

A pleated maxi skirt has been on my wishlist for some time now. I love how it can look so delicate and classy while being trendy too. I've previously talked about how pleats is one of the top trends for spring this year. Hence, I was inspired to put together this delicately feminine look when I got this blush pleated maxi skirt from CNDirect. The color is so feminine that I knew it called for an ultra feminine style, too.

I paired my skirt with this lace top that I initially got to use as a cover-up. But it paired beautifully with the layer skirt to create a formal and feminine look. Of course, adding in some statement earrings from Mod & Soul wouldn't hurt. I got this pair over the holidays and had been dying to re-wear them for a formal event.

Isn't blush the prettiest color to wear?

Maxi Moment

Maxis, for me, are like crotchless yoga pants. Don't be fooled - maxi skirts might make an outfit look pulled together but it took me literally a few minutes to get ready. And that is why I love them! Flowy maxi skirts, in particular, are my favorite! I've worn this look a few times but this is the first time that I had featured it on the blog, just because I thought it deserves some love.

I got this low-back floral top from a friend's shop - In Vogue Chic. The maxi skirt, on the other hand, is an old one. Therefore, this is one of those "shop my own closet" looks that I like doing more of recently. I just recently discovered that I've been doing too much shopping and have switched my mindset into reinventing looks from pieces that I already own and being smarter about where and when I shop.

It was only until I looked at the photos in my laptop that I realized the monochromatic theme in the look. Can you tell I love colors so much?

Maxi Street Style

I hope you're not sick and tired of my travel posts by now. I took a lot of outfit photos during my trip and I wanted to chronicle them here on my blog via outfit posts. Sorry I'm not sorry. But I still hope you enjoy them...

Now that that is out of the way, I have another look that I'd like to share off of my stay in KL. This is one of my favorite maxi skirts that I own because the color is a dream. Teal is one of my favorite colors of all-time, aside from cobalt. And even though I do not own much of this color in my wardrobe, I've always been drawn to it. For a fun street style, I decided to pair the skirt with something bold, not a neutral color like you'd expect.

After walking around for more than 2 hours, I deserve this break.
Another break, this time with Starbucks and Gelatomio
