Mint and Blue

Pastel colors make me happy. Whether it's mint, peach or blush, I always try to incorporate these shades into my wardrobe and everyday style. Aside from the fact that they give me that happy vibe, they are also highly versatile and can work with several different colors. One of my favorite ways to wear my favorite colors is to go for the monotone look, specifically pairing two items of the same color but of different shades or hues for my outfit.

This cobalt pencil skirt I got from Persunmall has been a good investment piece. My favorite way to wear it is with sweater tops or long sleeved tops, like this new one from For Me. The sheer simplicity of the top belies the style statement it makes. I decided to throw in my pink necklace to add some dose of fun into the look.

Mint Bow

Don't bows make everything look so pretty? That is why I simply could not pass up this dress from Sheinside. The back was such an unexpected surprise for the pretty modest looking style upfront. It also comes in a pretty mint color - one of my favorites this season. Hence, this was the ultimate summer dress for me.

I am happy to report that this is another excellent find from Sheinside. The dress costs only a little over $18, which is not a bad bargain for a quality piece of clothing. The chiffon material is well constructed and the color is true to the photo. What else can you ask for?

Monotone

I won't deny it - I love dressing up and getting dolled up. But I much prefer keeping my style simple on most days. In fact, I can live in shorts and skirts if I had to. Today, I am going to showcase a simple look that I can say would be my ideal day-to-day look (you know, for those days when your're too lazy to care).

This monotone look features my favorite color in two different shades: blue. The printed top is made out of cotton so it is light and comfortable to wear. I paired it with my lace pencil skirt to give this look a "girly" feel to it. This skirt is beyond amazing - as a lover of lace, I was hooked the first time I saw it. But the best part is that it does not only look nice, it fits nicely too. The mint sling bag helps to break up the monotony in color.

Vacation Style: Part 2

On our second day at Dahilayan Adventure Park, I sported pastel colors and I just loved how comfortable this ensemble is. The shorts might look familiar; it's because I've done a post about it here. I got it from SheInside.com and is one of my favorite purchases from the website apart from this lovely maxi dress. But I digress... I loved the pairing of color with the coral shorts and the mint top. I also added in my new floral scarf to create a layering effect to this look.

Aside from the fun marriage of pastel colors in this look, this outfit served its purpose for me. It was comfortable enough for me to wear on a few zip line rides and for hiking around the park. I would not compromise comfort, not even for the sake of style.
