Living in Color

Accessories add that element of fun to your outfit. It can be a source of texture, a pop of color or some kind of contrast that elevates the look. One of my favorite ways to use accessories for an accent in an outfit is to introduce color. If you don't like vibrant outfits, you can keep your ensemble monochromatic and then simply add a bright pair of earrings or necklace to integrate color into the look. It is bold but subtle, daring but contrived.

The range of colored tassels available at BaubleBar's website is very impressive but I've also picked out a few items from my other go-to websites when it comes to fashionable accessories:

How do you introduce color into your outfit? Do you prefer it as an accent or in the main piece?

Wishlist: Choker Necklaces

Back in the early 2000s or late 90's, chokers were a huge deal! But like most trends, it has been revived today and is now one of the top fashion trends. Personally, I wasn't a big fan at first but I have started to warm up to the trend seeing how it can easily be worked into glam outfits! The versatility of choker necklaces also open up more styling possibilities so you are not limited to the basic black choker necklaces. You can opt for semi-jeweled or colored ones, too.

There are several ways to style a choker necklace. The most obvious one is to wear it over a turtleneck top. It is the easiest way to pull of a street style chic outfit. But if you want a more boheme vibe, you can wear your choker with a long, layered necklace. You can also pair it with a sundress and boots to make it look even more boho.

But since choker necklace is basically a retro trend, you can pair it with retro pieces to create that particular style. If you have other suggestions on how to wear the choker necklace trend, I'd love to hear them below!

Holiday Gift Guide: Jewelry

When I got married, I gifted my bridesmaids and maid of honor earrings that they can wear on my wedding day so they could all wear the same type of jewelry. Therefore, jewelries make a great and classic gift idea for the holidays, especially if you are willing to splurge a little on your gifts for that special someone. With the abundance of jewelry stores online like Lulu Frost (for those looking for higher end jewelries) and Amy O Jewelry and Blue Box Jewels (for those looking for reasonably priced gift options), you are sure to find something to fit into your budget and delight the recipient.

Hi-Lo Glam

Being a girly-girl at heart, I always love dressing glam. I grew up trying on heels and pumps (oversized at that) and wearing my mom's tops as dresses. It was fun while it lasted! However, I never grew weary of dressing up... in fact, it becomes even more fun now that I get to choose my own style and I get to provide a glimpse of who I am with my fashion choices.

This hi-lo Hard Tail dress from ThredUP called for another glam moment for me. I was previously skeptical about the hi-lo trend (never was a fan to begin with). But I am not one to say "no" to something without at least giving it a shot.

The dress is made of cotton so it has a super comfortable feeling when worn. It was a bit flouncy so I added in my braided belt to cinch the waist. Plus, the golden floral hollow necklace from Persunmall helped infuse that delicate touch to the look. My pink neon pumps, however, provided some fun contrast with a pop of color.

Are you a fan of hi-lo dresses?
