Friday Favorites: Gorgeous Scarves

A scarf is the ultimate accessory. No matter the season, it has proven to be a handy accessory to quickly spice up an outfit or dress up casual tees or tank tops. It is amazing how a simple addition of a scarf can transform your entire outfit - I can attest to this as I have depended on them for some of my everyday styling. Plus, it does not hurt that it provides some warmth on a chilly day.

For today's edition of Friday Favorites, I am going to showcase a few scarves that I dug up online. I have noticed that majority of my scarves in the collection are plain and bold colored ones. Hence, I figured adding some printed scarves into my collection will definitely open up more styling possibilities. Feel free to click on the photo if you fancy a scarf (or two!) from my picks.

The Red Scarf

I have a confession to make: I have a deep, growing obsession for scarves. I dream about wearing scarves to mix and match with my outfit. I want one of every color and pattern. I would normally frown at this idea because I wanted to keep my shopping expenses to a minimum. But when you buy something that you really like and know you have plenty of use for it, there is no place for regret. Such is the case with this new scarf that I got.

Have you noticed how I've overloaded on red lately? From scarves, to dresses, to nail polish, and of course, lipstick... what can I do? I just love it. The color is bold. Hard to pull off but when you can, it makes the whole look stand out.

For this look, I paired my red scarf with a basic leopard top. I find that red works well with leopard prints. Hence, this pairing was a no-brainer for me. I paired the top with basic black leggings so as not to mess up the harmony of the colors. Adding too much bold colors in one outfit will make it look like a total mess, I can imagine. I think it worked in highlighting the red scarf, which was my main goal here.

Are you as into scarves as I am? Come on, spill the beans.. xx

November Remix

The month of November hasn't been good so far, personally and for my country. First off, the devastation of the typhoon Haiyan has left a lot of people without homes and even losing some of their family members. I wanted to start off by encouraging everyone who gets to read this to do their part in providing any relief to those who were affected. Every little bit helps. You can check here to learn more about sending in your donations.

Now, onto this post... I wanted to feature something that I've worn before but wanted to amp up the look by incorporating a scarf. I love wearing dresses (yes, I've said that time and again) but it can be tricky finding new ways to style them up so you don't end up looking like you've nothing else in your closet. This scarf trick always does it for me.

There will always be that casual chic mojo I get from wearing a dress with the scarf. So... don't say I didn't warn you. But you might be seeing more of these in the coming months, especially as the temperature gets colder and colder as we near December.

Do you share my love for this look? Yes? No?
