Statement Tees

T-shirts are the most basic article of clothing in the fashion industry. And while some have relegated basic tees for everyday wear, aka non-fashionable, I'd like to think otherwise. I've seen several celebrities and fashion icons that wear basic tees and turn them into fashionable looks with the right pair of pants or skirts, or accessories. But one of the best things about wearing tees is the ability to customize its design or text. It's fun, quirky, and will surely grab attention!

Here is one statement tee that I wore recently. Love the color - plus, it's the perfect excuse to dress down!

What to Wear to a Casual Beach Wedding

June is famously known for being the wedding month. Indeed, a lot of women aspire to become a June bride, so don't be surprised if your mailbox start to fill up with wedding invitations. It is also summer in the US, although start of the rainy season here in the Philippines (insert frown here), so a lot of these weddings tend to take place in the beach. There is a wide range of beach wedding dress for brides who want to look their best. But if you've been invited to a beach wedding, the next big question you often find yourself asking is this: what to wear?

Don't stress yourself out trying to find the perfect dress. Here are some tips that will help make your search a bit easier:

Think about a dress that would fit the beach. Anything floral or a sundress would work in this sense. However, pay close attention to the wedding invitation if its a casual or semi-formal beach wedding. You can play up your accessories to end up with a casual or semi-formal attire even when you're wearing a sundress or floral maxi to the event.

Choose practical, not tacky, footwear. You can go for flats or peep toes. And no, flip-flops are a no-no even for casual beach weddings.

Consider the elements. Don't wear dresses that are too light as they might be blown off by the ocean breeze. Also, think about the sand when you are determining your footwear and the length of your dress.

Here are three outfit ideas that you can play with or get inspiration from:

Lulu's Sale Alert

Lulu's is one of my favorite online shops because of their wide array of chic and trendy items that are also reasonably priced. In fact, you've seen me feature their black & white pieces and mint items in the past via this blog. But when I visited their shop recently, I found out that they have a sale on! Yes, you heard it right - a sale! Some of the items are even down by as much as 50%! Make sure to head on over to their site to check out the sale items.

Meanwhile, you can check my favorite picks off of their sale items below:

Beach-y Casual {Part 2}

If you're reading this, then chances are you have seen the first part of this series with my casual look on the beach. If not, you can head here. This second outfit I will be featuring is still a casual look although a more feminine one. This top is one of my faves from Invogue Collections - a blue floral top with peter pan collar. I love that the collar details are made from pearls! It's too cute, isn't it? It's just a little too delicate when it comes to washing, though, but totally worth it. And it doesn't hurt that I'm a fan of floral to begin with.

I went with a denim short to pair this top because I wanted to neutralize the busy pattern up-top coming from the floral top and embellished neckline. I also wore my strappy flip-flops from Ipanema for a beach casual look that is still chic!

Introducing the June Bride...

Don't let the title trick you - I am NOT getting married soon! But with lots of friends and acquaintances tying the knot, I can't get my friends off of my back who are probably more excited that I get hitched than I do. Don't get me wrong - I love the boyfie but I am having so much fun living the single life that I don't think I'm ready to give it up just yet. Yet is the operative word there.

Anyhow, this post isn't about me, but rather my weird obsession for wedding dresses. I find myself browsing wedding dresses more than I need to. I even have a board-full of dress ideas on my Pinterest account. I'm wondering if this is an unhealthy obsession? But I bet you can't help it, too, if it's as cute as the ones I spotted at PersunMall's website, of which I was just recently introduced to when their marketing manager wrote me an email for a blog collaboration. I mean, I felt my jaws drop looking at these pretty dresses. Wouldn't you?

They have tons of choices on the website based on your kind of wedding dress, as well as other selections such as sexy prom dresses 2013, but I just picked out my personal faves. Which dress is your favorite?

Beach-y Casual {Part 1}

If you'd been following my blog, you must be aware that I spent my weekend on the beach. Allow me to repeat: the beach. I know. I'm such a beach bum. It was my idea of a perfect weekend. Swimming. Lounging on the cottage beach side. Enjoying a bowl of fresh fruits and ice cream. Spending time with my love. It certainly felt like I had the time of my life then. Hence, I put together a comfy outfit to wear for my last-minute summer getaway with the boyf.

When I say casual, I mean really casual. I sported a red spaghetti strap top (a souvenir I got from my recent trip to Palawan) and my white shorts (which I've worn only once since I purchased it, huh). I loved that it ended up being a pretty chic look. I paired it with my white and pink tote bag, which I just bought last week. Of course, my summer essential - sunglasses - is never missing in my ensemble. The scorching heat from the sun that day was unbearable - good thing I came prepared!

How'd you like my uber casual ensemble?

Father's Day Gift Guide

It seemed like only yesterday when we celebrated Mother's Day and June is already upon us. Aside from the boyf's birthday, there is one other occasion that I look forward to this month - Father's Day. I can pretty much say that I'm a daddy's girl - I spent most of my time with dad watching our favorite sport: basketball. We also have similar interest in food and hobbies. Ironically though, I always have trouble finding a gift to give him during Father's Day.

For one, he has an expensive taste... and very picky! It has to be a particular brand and style (or color), or he won't be convinced to wear or use it! But thankfully, I've made improvements over the years... If you're troubled, like me, you can break down your choices of fashion gift items according to your dad's personality and style.
