I always like to discover new ways to wear and style dresses or clothing items that I already own. Hence, I was excited to try out adding a belt to this maxi dress that I own (and already featured here). It's no question that I loved the relaxed fit of this maxi dress, causing me to dub it as the comfiest maxi I've ever owned. But I like to add a belt into the mix as well to cinch the waist and give it more shape when worn.

To complete the look, I wore the belted dress with my wedge sandals and Kate Spade tote to create a more dressed up look. I wear this maxi dress with thong sandals and flats a lot but dressing it up would be a nice change too. For cooler months, I could also toss in a light denim jacket for layering.

Color Block Maxi

I have had this color block maxi dress from Shein for a long while now but I have yet to blog about it... until now. If you're a regular reader, then you are well aware that I am obsessed with maxi skirts and dresses. You too will fall in love with the maxi dress selection from Shein and the fact that you can buy most of them for less than $50! There are some aspects of the sewing and fit that can be improved on but in general, they never fail to satisfy even the most discerning fashion tastes (especially at its price point)!

The pale pink color on the bottom half of this maxi dress provides that feminine touch to the dress. Meanwhile, the neckline is gorgeous! I love how it shows off my collar bone prominently. I have a minor obsession for halter necklines so don't be surprised if this maxi makes a repeat on the blog soon!

Even though I wear my maxi dresses year round, there is something about off shoulder maxis that are just a perfect fit for summer wear. If you add in some floral prints into the mix, you have the quintessential summer time outfit. But I do think that the accessories are what makes your summer style stand out. Hence, this summer vibe that I am going for with this look would not be complete without my new Skye watch from Uncle Jack. Mint has always been one of my favorite colors so when I saw this watch on Uncle Jack's website, I did not hesitate and chose this watch. It is a standout accessory without being too bold in its style.

Aside from my watch, this pair of sunglasses from ForMe has served me well throughout these years. I love the pop of pink that add a whimsical touch to my summer outfits. The pink sunnies and mint watch do look good together, don't they?

Must-Have Maxi Dress

There are so many reasons to love wearing maxi dresses, but if I had to pick just one, it's the fact that you can wear one all throughout the year. The length makes it ideal to transition even for cooler months. At the same time, the casual feel and style makes it great for summer time wear when you want to stay cool but chic. I just recently added one to my growing collection and it's another one from Shein.

The print might be a bit reminiscent of summer fashion but the fabric is extremely comfortable you'd want to wear it all year long! The cotton blends fabric was truly a welcome surprise! I love its comfy feel especially in this crazy season we're having wherein the days are extremely humid and the nights are extremely cold (due to the rain!). Hence, this maxi dress is a must-have in my book. I can wear it as is on those hot and humid days, or layer with a denim jacket or cardigan on cooler days!

This dress... I don't even know where to start. I've had this on my wishlist for so long and to finally get it and to see just how beautiful it is, I was more than elated. I do have the tendency to get turned off when I see items that are styled by way too many bloggers. But with this one, I just couldn't resist the temptation. I've also been into wrap dresses a lot lately so it was a no-brainer when I scratched this off my wishlist.

I did not want to overdo when styling this dress because I think the dress makes the statement for itself. The layered gold necklace from Shein added the right hint of glam while the gladiator sandals added contrast by infusing some edge to the whole outfit. These sandals would definitely work great with the dress for everyday wear but I can also wear the dress with a dressier pair of shoes for a more glam outfit. That's something to consider for another style inspiration post in the future. As if you need more coaxing to get this dress from Shein, it's available for less than $21!
